Do you prefer 39mm or 43mm chips? (1 Viewer)

That's a great point! I didn't think about the storage inconveniences... are there any other storage solutions you guys recommend for 43mm chips?
Ideally I could store up to 600 chips.

Love the Apache cases. This (Apache 4800) is obviously much more than you need for only 600 but makes traveling and storage very easy.

I agree with @NotRealNameNoSir storage not an issue. Apache cases from harbor freight or bank supplies bird cages $80 43mm version. Maybe they take up little more space that's all.
Do you know if the Nanuk 910 case does the job too? And how many 43mm chips it could store?

They should fit both, the racks shown are from this site, Broken Arrows, chinese products. There's a 40mm and a 43mm version, even some 50 mm racks in that case.

Search Apache and Nanuk on here, you'll see lots of examples.

Are you talking clay or hybrids??? IF you are talking about hybrids, to me it's a no brainer. In my experience, they feel and handle much better than 39mm hybrids. For them i would choose 43mm any time it was an option. If your talking about clay, then it's kool and they feel like bricks. :cool

Planning on getting a new tournament set, and just curious on what other people's takes are on whether they prefer 39mm or 43mm chips, and why?
Bigger is better!! And if anybody tells you different, then I suspect they are smoking crack!!

My favorite set ever!!

If you've never held a barrel of leaded 50mm Paulsons, then you will never know.

I also have a 44mm CPC set, and most of my peeps love them WAY more then my 39mm Paulsons or TRKs.

YES....size matter!! (:

Does anyone know whether the larger Paulsons, 48mm especially, are more prone to noticeable warping over time and use compared to 39mm? Both 43mm and 'FatHat' 48mm appear to be the same ~3.3mm thickness, so I was wondering if the larger diameter/thickness ratio makes any difference there.

I love 43 mm but only have 2 actual casino chips of this size, many hybrid of both sizes. Happy to ship you some 39 and 43 mm if you cover the shipping cost just let me know.

I've just recently come over to the 43 camp. I saw a royal card room set on YT and they just hit me different. I ordered a sample and I'm now on the planning phase on when I can get a set. I'm gonna have to hit up Gear to relabel some of the colors/ denoms. I love the way they feel.

Both have their pros — I’ve used both and it really comes down to personal preference.
39mm is the standard size, stacks a bit more stable, easier for players who are used to casino chips. If you’re hosting mixed groups or want a more “authentic” casino feel, 39mm is usually the safer bet.
43mm definitely has that cool factor — feels more substantial in the hand, looks great on the table, and gives your set a more unique, premium vibe. Only downside is slightly trickier stacks if you’re running big tournaments with lots of chips in play.

Either way you can’t go wrong — depends if you want classic or a little extra flash.
