One guy doesn't need any. 14 guys across 2 tables, on the other hand, need about 28 racks. I'm pretty fucking far from 28 racks.
I don't know why you brought me into this. I thought you and I had a fragile truce. A tentative détente, if you will. A brief interlude of peace and prosperity.
It's ironic that the guy that hoovered Wynn chips and several other sets like PacMac eats dots thinks I've cornered the market on 8 spot snappers. You like to count things, so try this - unblock me (assuming you even see this), and find all the posts where I begged, offered trades, or offered to buy snappers. Now multiply this times 5 because I did most of my successful work via PMs. I've been on this snapper game since the outset. Not my fault that I've been successful in grabbing them and you're a Rainman-Come-Lately. I've spent HOURS trying to swing deals for these, to the point where they're value to me is much higher than what the market will bear for my selling them.
My best guess - and this is a total SWAG - is that I have about 35% of the total snapper chips out there. I'm basing this solely on the sheer number of people who bought between 1 barrel and 1 1/2 racks of snappers - and there are a TON of people still out there with these quantities. I'm having to do things like offer a $179 rack of chips for 125 $0.79 chips to get more snappers. For the record, just to prove I don't have an adversarial relationship with math, that's $179 worth of my chips for $98.75 worth of his chips.
Endgame is that there still a ton of chips out there but you're going to have to do the work to find them. Good luck in your searches. Half the fun is getting there.
(Actually, that's 10% of the fun. 90% of the fun is spreading a two table mixed game last Saturday).
