I don’t quite get what’s happening. I’m posting hey, no payment, not sure what’s up.

People who know him, are in contact with him, and/or just played with him are in this thread posting, and I’m obviously in the wrong on this based on the feedback I’m getting. I’m okay being in the wrong.

But, I legit don’t know any other piece of the puzzle. Did chips not make it? Did I quote him the wrong amount?

Anyone can PM or text me. Or put me on blast here publicly. But I’m obviously missing something.

(This is why you don’t ever post publicly on PCF if there’s an issue.)

I haven’t kept up with recent events but I can say that @natumes sold me 30 Inplay 1000s that I received within a week. It’s been a few years since that transaction.
I’ve splashed pots with him at 3 meet ups and he was always fun to be around.

I don’t like hearing of any member being involved in a bad deal, short end of the stick or otherwise and I do hope this gets resolved for the better.

I do a lot of poking at Jeffrey because I think deep down he really enjoys it and it’s literally like tee ball the way he sets himself up for these occasions.
I think Jeffrey could run for governor of California and actually win. ;)

I spent time at an @BarrieJ3 meetup last year. I bought 10 Gasser chairs from him and shoved them into my suv. My experience dealing with him has not even come close to "narcissistic," and I come from an entire family of narcissists (dad, uncles, even aunties). He was a great host, very generous with his time and resources, and honestly a pretty cool guy.

I wasn't around for any of the early "stuff," and chipping is probably the 9th or 10th most important hobby in my life, so I can't speak to any of the transgressions or interactions of the past, but I will say that people are just a tiny fraction of who they are at any given moment. People grow and people regress. Because of this, I would never think about who does or who doesn't deserve karma, because you could find a window into all of our lives where we deserve it, and other windows where we're the victim.

@BarrieJ3 in this thread seems to be handling everything responsibly. He's admitted where he could have taken different/better actions, and he's communicated what he hopes and expects. I personally expect the other party to at least communicate instead of leaving things unknown. This would all be over if a quick convo could be had.

But, the memes are fun, so I've enjoyed the rabbit hole trip.

I feel like I’ve held him in pretty good light overall, no attacks, understanding that shit happens, and jokey (if pointed) with memes and gifs.

I’m sure when he returns there will be scorched earth and he’ll explain in detail the depths of whatever my screw up is.

But…not everything has to be battles and pitchforks. I don’t think my issue was ever with Natumes in this thread, it’s historically been with people who keep hinting there’s much more to this, mucking up the intent, etc.

Maybe I’ll make this my last post in this thread, but we know how that goes.

It’s to the point I’m actually worried about my role in this, because idk what story is being told at the meetup and to folks.

This felt like the most gentle way possible.

I had checked in via pms but wasn’t getting a response, and he had a recent thread opened offering action on wsop entry.

It started as a gently nudge publicly posted, ie hey man trying to see if you got that package. That felt more gentle than starting a thread @ing him, which would’ve garnered a ton more attention.

I don’t think I’ve ever left anyone hanging. Closest was in reshipping to parties, one person (marhault) asked if he intentionally received almost all spinners. My rack was pretty much all spinners as well, and I couldn’t fix that for him. Eventually got something his way down the road to assist, but that exchange always stuck with me.

Not sure what else there’d still be from my time here.

I remain/continue to be confused by the various unspoken rules of PCF.

To my understanding:
  • There's missing details (I have no clue what those are) and they can't be shared
  • Buyer is able to logon to PCF
  • Buyer is able to attend PCF meetups
  • Plenty of PCFers are in contact with Buyer
  • All of this is fine because Buyer will pay one day.
Which in turn means:
  • Buyer can afford to pay for the chips.
  • Buyer knows the situation, this thread, and continues to ignore any outreach.
  • We have his personal contact information.
And of course, I don't know if the chips actually arrived. If they didn't, I'll be glad to just eat the cost and move on.

It's not about the money. I'd just like this to be done after a year.
If @natumes reaches out to me today and settles up, I will donate 100% of the money today.

I hope you don’t think this came from me, because I have no idea if you will be paid. But I am confident it will be settled eventually… just as your multiple instances of ghosting were settled eventually. But, honestly, I have no idea. Just speculation.

My read of the situation is that natumes dibsed some chips and Barrie probably asked for address via PM and natumes sent it but hadn’t set cash yet.

Then some time lapsed with no communication.

Then Barrie sent the chips

Then he asked to get paid

Probably natumes feels like Barrie should have checked before randomly shipping chips out after no communication for a week+ before shipping.

Which is fair, but just send the chips back then. It’s inconvenient but you said dibs and provided an address.

(I could be completely wrong on how it played out but this is what it sounds like).

That’s pretty much dead on exact.

There are no additional PMs, exchanges, etc.

Anti Barrie brigade can muddle the waters as much as they wish, there are zero extenuating circumstances or nefarious plots on this end.

For some of you, I haven’t replied in literal years. For others, I made the mistake of responding to you in this thread.

It’s unfortunate that despite trying to turn this thread into a positive closing, y’all feel the need to continue to try and drag this back down into the muck and mire.

I have never claimed to be the poster child for upstanding PCF member, but I’m pretty darn involved and have a longstanding chipping journey with far more positive than negative imo - despite that having nothing to do with this situation.

I don’t believe I’ve shown disrespect here for Natumes, and it’s unfortunate to see the continued negative responses. It’s telling how little PCFers engage or reply to the negative comments, and how little updoots or emoticon reactions your negative posts receive.

Obviously I've offended multiple of you with my handling of this, but I'm not sure what route you prefer I took in this specific event. My posts in this thread were never intended to gather the pitchforks, but rather find solution. It's saddening to watch and see the responses that have and continue to come through.

But as I've said before, I find it far less telling of myself or Natumes' character, and far more a reflection of others'.

I did obviously put way too much time/nonsense into chipping/PCF. Happens when you have 0 social media/online footprint and move every 2-3 years, and find a hobby that can in part fill those social/support constructs.

Plus bastards aren't always wrong, occasionally there's some kernels of truth that could be helpful in self reflection. But just healthier to ignore, and find those kernels of truth elsewhere in more constructive formats and exchanges.

Anyone that remotely knows me knows how much I'd rather just say fu*k it, jump off the deep end, and go full tilt normal Barrie as expected. I mean, it would be an amazing dumpster fire to watch, for sure.

Edited: Add-on, at one point I seriously thought that natume guy is dead or went bankrupt or some bad things happen but to heard he is doing fine and still joining meetup is just shocking

$5k is donated to a PTA, non profit, or charity of my choosing, if and when I don't post once anywhere on PCF between May 1st 2025 and December 31st 2025. I'm allowed to log in, I'm allowed to utilize the like emjoi button to react to posts, I'm allowed to PM - no public posts allowed, no thread creations, nothing. $ needs to be provided to any 3rd party member by end of June to be held until I fail or succeed.

I have literally not one other place I post anything online (social media, reddit, forums, linkedin, etc.). I have plans for upcoming meetup, large chip purchases, and have the 15th most posts on PCF yet a join date of a couple years ago. There's obviously no way that I would follow through and accomplish/win this.

You could donate to charity, hurt me where it counts, and buy the forum sweet, sweet silence from me. Then berate me for hating Charity when I lose.

Yay or nay?
