MAN CAVE Pics thread - no stack posts (3 Viewers)

Moving to Woodlands from Morley. Best wishes for building. Looked into that option but finding land was really tough.
Great spot! We lived in Jolimont for years and love it around there. Share pictures when ya setup.

Haven’t posted a cave update in a while! I’ve shifted a few things around. The basement is basically at capacity, so anything new that comes in means something goes out.

lol you all are funny. I promise this is absolutely attainable! This is just the unfinished basement in our house we are renting. Everything was pretty affordable; wall coverings are $10 Amazon tapestries, lighting is off-brand LEDs, floors are ROSS carpets. Arcade games were bought around Black Friday for $200-$300 each, foosball table is a cheap $220 model from wayfair, poker table is a barrington. The slots were the most expensive purchases but if you stalk facebook marketplace you can get deals. There are people on here with more tied up in a single set of Paulsons than this whole basement ha.

The only exception to this is the sound system - I’ve spent a lot of time and money on that.

It's not about total cost, it's about the composition as a whole.

So I’ve loved my man cave and how it’s setup and I’ve spent a lot of time and money to try and make it as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The right table, the right chips, the shuffler, TV’s etc but whenever I went to Vegas I’ve always been like, what about the table is making this an overall better experience than my setup at home? I always knew lighting was important and I brightened up the canned light in the room etc, but I never thought a fixed light centered over the table was it….i was dead wrong. For my room that was “it”. Players thought I was crazy and that the lighting was more than good before. They all agree it’s a night and day difference, more inviting and we end up playing longer without people getting tired. To anyone who doesn’t have a light directly over their table. I’d tell them to absolutely do it and that they won’t regret it.

The photos probably don’t capture it the way the eye does but in person it’s just the perfect amount of direct light on the board that it makes it so much better. Put it on a dimmer as well as the canned lights so you can really set a good mood or ambiance in the room but turned the outside cans down and the above table light up to get just the right feel.

I have been working on the mancave for awhile now. Mostly finished it for the KY Derby party we had yesterday. I have a new custom poker cloth and plan to cover the dealer spot on the table, and a few odds and ends left, but pretty happy with it. Next is to finally dig all my chips out of storage and do a proper photo shoot. The bar is called “The Double Nickel Bar & Casino.”

It’s hard to capture, but my dad was a charter member of the Casino Collectibles Club. I inherited all his memorabilia. I displayed as much as I could (everything on the shelves and walls is casino related) but it’s probably only a 1/4 of his stuff.

PS: Hotdog roller is in the cabinet as I had to clear counter space for the BBQ and food for the party.
