by the way, has this glitch ever happened to anyone else on mavens? the guy raised and all of my action buttons were absent. nothing i could do but wait until my timer ran out and auto-folded me.

I am trying to figure out if there are any apps or sites that have a customizable home game that we can use. Obviously it's important that it comes from a credible platform. I am also hoping we can find reviews and practical experiences of some players who have joined and started playing/hosting games. The stakes are irrelevant, so are the methods of settling (I assume everyone will settle via Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, check, etc.). I know of two: Poker Stars Home Game and Pokerrrr 2. I tried using PS and even though it's an awesome platform, it's very inflexible and not good for building/hosting cash games (if I am wrong, please let me know). I haven't tried Pokerrrr 2 yet. Hopefully @ChaosRock and others can chime in here as well.
For a smaller consistent group of people you know, PokerNow works great. Its as quick and as easy to set up as a zoom meeting. Offers NLH, PLO, and PLO5

Has anyone used Poker Now for their online home game.
Our gang tried the free version for the first time this past Wednesday. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. Unlike Poker Stars, no table rake is taken. The administrator can select various options including 3 game types. 10 player table.
Options can be changed mid game, so that was a plus. We just used Hold em, and selected manual dealing rather than auto deal.
We are not going back to Poker Stars.

We use it. Zero issues or complications. Huge fan of the credit and ability to settle periodically too.

I host a game 1-2x/wk with my friends. I haven’t tried any of the other sites bc I’m very happy with PokerNow.

Yes. It works great. The ledger feature is awesome for settling up.

This can happen if you have multiple windows open and you open one of the other windows while PM is running. It has happened to me.

Poker Mavens has been a blast for us. Definitely worth it to pay a little extra to customize everything. So good! Players been loving it. I set up the server and all they need is a browser, I play on a tablet and run the server on a desktop.

They don't know what Tiger Palace is but the chips are appreciated lol. 7card stud, holdem, PLO, whatever works. I haven't set up a tournament yet but its on the to-do list.

What times do you normally play? Stakes? Have they figured out how to host triple draw games?

Honestly just friends and family for now; I've been thinking about opening up a side table for PCFers but haven't yet. Super beginner friendly.

Once a month sporadic times due to my wife's Cali cousins. 5cent/10cent, or 20c/40c 7card stud.

Not that I've seen sadly, I would love a draw option.

We’ve been up and running on Poker Mavens for four years as of March 1st.

Poker Mavens v7 has come out, a major patch. V6 still works. I got the V7 recently and ran it the other day, I quite like all of the upgrades.

Speaking of Mavens, @Gorbash and I are playing with a bunch of guys from our local home game scene. Mostly 1/2 cash games (Big O, PLO 4/5/6 mix, some NLHE) with a weekly NLhE tournament. But you kinda want to be on the west coast because the games start late, 9pm-ish out here.

Also there is an integration with a poker-oriented payment system called SettleKing, so recommended you be on that (easy to join), it’s the host’s startup ;-). Anyway, games are juicy, PM for deets.

Calling all Poker Mavens users: My Mavens Tools service has been totally revamped with new mobile phone apps for iPhone and Android. Tons of features for admins and players. I'm happy to provide a test login for anyone who wants to try out the app. Check out mavenstools.com and DM me for more info. Thanks.

So I assume the admin interface uses the API but what does the player interface use? Is it a limited browser with own UI?

@Rakrul both admins and players use the same app, but only admins have access to the tab with the admin functions. (You can see this in the screenshots above; player MegaWhale is not an admin, so the Admin tab does not appear for that player.) The app connects to the Mavens Tools backend server, which accesses your Mavens site via API. The apps are not browser-based — they are native iOS and Android apps.
