All valid arguments, I must admit. I think it’ll work but I’ve not seen all 80 of them together so watch this space.

I don't think they will look disgusting. They just may not turn out exactly how you imagine it.

Too many people have cautioned using it as a base color to be discounted.

In all seriousness, the mockup of the chip doesn’t look terrible but I’d be more concerned about the plasticky look and feel like @LeGold mentioned. May look out of place with the rest.

Just find a high quality lighting forum so you can research the best way to make these chips look decent while playing. Some of the threads above should get you pointed to the right track.

Exactly. Saturn has one nuance that not everyone understands.

If you have poor lighting, it will look like puke.

But if you have a good lamp with a high Color Rendering Index or good natural sunlight (which contains a lot of ultraviolet light and makes DG colors pop brighter), then it will be an absolute bomb!

Well...you guys kinda talked me out of it. I've been in all sorts and finally decided to cancel my CPC order. Too much money to be spent on iffy chips.

I'll go and rethink my life and maybe just do a ceramic or china clay set.

Tragic!? I don't know about that. I was a little spooked by the advice although I thought the colour looked alright. There were other factors to be fully honest. I was committing over 4 grand (AU) on 600 chips so I went back to have another look at the Saturn and some possible alternatives. I wasn't really happy with the CPC colour palette and with the 'possible closure', there was a fair amount of FOMO.

On reflection, I don't think it was a usable set (at least for my crew) so I think the money can be better spent. CPC will be around a while longer now so hopefully new colours will be introduced in the future, and the Aussie dollar will be worth more than 60 cents US.

DG Saturn looks a bit like another material to me.
Definately not the easiest color to combine…

I like it the most in a bright white chip as small (18) spot

I had no idea. When we travelled to Sydney in 2004, we were looking at ~$1.30 USD to AUD.

Yep, it's been on a slow decline since 2021 and was at it's lowest just when I put my order in. Maybe I'll recoup some of the lost PayPal fees on the refund now that the dollar is marginally stronger.
