Best set that you have, that you'll never felt... (2 Viewers)

Yes, but you would have lost 20 years of not playing with the chips too. Personally, I think that's worth more.
Totally not a debating in favor of not felting them, but in 20 years we may look back and LOL we all felted our chips (like myself) and the mint ones command huge money to collectors is all…

Felting your most cherished sets with like minded players and chippers is what being in this hobby is all about.
Has nothing or shouldn’t have anything to do with a sets worth.
The people you felt your most prized sets with are your family. View attachment 1180640View attachment 1180641View attachment 1180642View attachment 1180644View attachment 1180643View attachment 1180645
Agreed. Nothing like felting your coolest chips with chippers.

Hoping to finish up this one to christen next WaB

Will they? It’s not like there are set prices for anything. And it’s not like you can go to the rare set store and choose from the same rare set at different price points - near mint $18k, mint $20k. It’s just not how the hobby works.
How it works is when you get that rare opportunity to buy a grail set, you either pay what he’s asking or you counter. But neither of you are equipped with recent comp sales of varying conditions in different values.
I think minor condition differences are more a thing inside choppers heads than actual market factors.
Well just look at 99% of other collections. The better the condition, the more rare, the higher the value.

Years ago I had a fire. Lost some cool stuff that was in gem never been used mint shape. Changed my perspective on "stuff." Only got sad when I saw a Tupperware bowl melted that was from my childhood.

More power to people who own chip sets or other objects as investments. Especially if that gives you enjoyment.
Personally I couldn't own a Ferrari & not drive it. Or let my friends drive it for that matter. Not that I own a Ferrari or chip set on that level...

My lawyers just finished our agreement where all JeepologyTM new set unvailings must be done at WaB properties only.

Can’t wait to build a chip palace in my stack!

I may agree with you, but your/our pov doesn’t invalidate others with a different pov.

Some people just play poker as one of many things in their life and certainly don’t consider their local poker players family.

It’s great to see everyone’s different opinions.

So far we only have Lakeshores and TRK Deads as unfelted/unfeltable sets.

Where’s the rest!
Well...some of them might be in this stack as well...LOL.

...it's a bit easier to have collector chips when you also have other chips to put in play. (: At least that's what I keep telling myself...LOL!!

I felt them all.
I used to be in a regular Thursday night league, and would host casual weekend games, pre-pandemic. I would host 2-3 a month, including 2 tournaments. All my sets would see action on at least a yearly basis.
Now I have a little one and only host 2-3 times a year. Pretty much all cash games with maybe 1 tournament. My cash sets still get out, but my tournament sets, not so much.
I’m hoping that changes as the little one gets older.
