Dia de los Muertos Poker Chips Now Available! (8 Viewers)

Emailing Gene and Kristil is usually the best way to get answers ...

Yes, you do; 43mm (in my opinion) is vastly superior, especially when considering full-face gorgeous artwork. There are caveats, like storage, so keep that in mind.

I doubt it; DDLM 43mm's are considered to be full customs, so I doubt they have any hanging around. But again, maybe ask, see if they have some rejects you could get for the "feel".

That I highly doubt it. However, (and this opinion is probably the minority), I have samples of Chipcos and I prefer the standard blanks...

I sent an email when I ordered the sample set, which was almost 2 weeks ago and haven't heard back from them yet. Maybe it was just me being unlucky, or due to the holiday season. I asked here and got multiple replies in a few minutes. Thank you for the info, I think my main concern about going 43 over 39 is the big difference in price. I know I'll like them more, but buying 400'ish will add a pretty penny to the bill. I don't have any storage currently, so that's not a concern for me. Besides, with either size I'm also getting plaques. Those are my storage concern as they won't fit well in any cases I've looked at so far. And I'm considering getting both plaques, semi-customized. Which will probably mean a separate case to store them in. I should go check Youtube as I bet at least 1 user from here has made a video about this lol.

BRPoker will mail out generic 43mm samples for customer's who want to compare the two sizes.

Sometimes I overlook the most simple answer, any 43s would work perfect, thank you.

I've heard this from a few members; that they've been very slow to respond. I hope everything is OK. This is definitely NOT the norm when it comes to BRPro.

I understand your hesitation on price; we all have it:
  • Comes to terms with a set and is able to live with the price
  • Finds something to change, and it will increase the price
  • Says that it makes the set too much money
  • Gets original set, regrets not spending that little bit extra to REALLY get what you want about 2 minutes later
Storage is a problem regardless of whether you are starting with nothing and can buy anything. There's a very small combination of things that will work for 43mm:
  • 43mm chips need bigger racks; bigger racks don't fit in birdcages
  • Some people use pelican cases, but then you can't display the DDLM in all their glory
  • The best option is a Matsui/Apache Clone rack and this is a GREAT solution, but Matsui cases are hard to come by and Apache Clones are ALWAYS out of stock

Plaque storage is an issue ... that's why I 3D print my own :)

*BUMP* I was away from poker for a good minute. I came back and was ready to order some Navada Jacks when I found these suckers. Ordered a sample set and MAAAAAN they're perfection. I ordered them about 2 weeks ago, and sent an email about customs, haven't heard back, but found the answer here. And But I forgot how active these forums are, so I'll ask the other 2 questions I came up with. .15 more for Chip Co versions, can you get a sample set of those? I'm wondering how they compare. Also, I'm about to go email them again, but I thought I'd ask here too, can you get a sample set in 43mm? I'm almost sure I want 43 over 39, but I'd like to have a set of both so I can compare side by side.
I bought a set of the 39mm chips during the pre-buy, and later grabbed a barrel of 43mm from another pcf member to use as bounty chips. I was so blown away by the difference that I sold the 39mm set and replaced it with a 43mm set. DDLM were MADE for 43mm:tup:

What you said is 100% accurate, I know in the end even with my lady telling me I should get the $50 500 chip loaded case down at the game store. I'm going to end up getting custom 43s here, and when she finds out how much they cost me. Well, I guess I'll be ready when that happens. She doesn't understand poker and chips. I've been to plenty of games that use those generic ass plastic chips you get in the kits. I'd rather die than host a game with them. I wonder if I explained to her that $1.15 a chips "cheap" compared to the custom $3 a chip clay chips off CPC would work? Probably not lol, but it seems like a deal to me.

Welp, that pic sure as hell didn't make me want the 43's any less UGHS lol, and it's not like the chips will be my biggest expense here either. I don't have an even close to a suitable table for poker. Or the tools (or skills) needed to make my own. And if I get a table knowing me I'd want a custom one with a Dia De Los Muerto's image in the middle with the skeletons sitting around a table playing Hold 'Em. So really, $1.15 a chip, or whatever the price is for 43's with custom denominations is peanuts right? Looking at the profile of the guy who did the artwork, he hasn't logged on since early 2021, hope he's alright. And hope he's still around, and hope he might be interested in being paid to create the artwork for the poker table.

Although, I should *probably* slow down and work on actually getting the chips before I start thinking about a custom table or custom artwork on it that says "club de póquer de los muertos" AKA Poker Club of the dead!

As I've said before: 43mm DDLM FTW!

But if you're actually considering a DDLM-themed table (and my god, I have to come over and play on it if you do. Where do you live and what's your name!? ROFL) then you MUST go 43mm on the chips.

Damn it! I thought Gene was announcing some new news! I was super excited! Just went to the link and it was broken.

Came back to the site and realized his original post was from 2018 :confused

Was looking forward to the 15% discount lol!

I think I would hit her with the "honey, what if BR Pro stopped selling to the public like Paulson did in 2014, already chips that were $1 are worth $4 and more... try getting that kind of return out of the stock market! I'm planning for our retirement dear!" Lmao

Or hit her with... well atleast I'm not like this idiot Ben on the forum that spent more on one set of chips than a cheap but brand new car! True story

Unfortunately my lover is also on the forum and encourages bad decisions on chip purchases... believe me, when the itch grabs a hold of you really bad. You will actually be thankful for that voice of reason!

@quebert that is still lower level pricing for chips, if that's too much then pray you never fall in love with THC paulsons! Lol

If you're just looking for a cool chip set that you'll occasionally use from time to time, the 39s are more than fine. If the reason that you're picking the set is that you really dig the artwork & design and plan on using the set for a long time, imho it's a no brainer (upgrading to the 43mm). It's a relatively modest premium for something you'll enjoy every time you play with them.

Well outside of the potential cost, the only thing that might stop me from a custom DDLM table would be I do want to get some custom CPC chips down the road and the theme of them wouldn't fit with a DDLM table. And then, I'd probably feel I needed to have a 2nd custom table made for the custom set. Makes sense in my head any ways, but doesn't make sense for the wallet, and I'm going to be struggling as it is to find space for the one table lol. It's the rabbit hole people on here always bring up. And it seems to apply to everything I do :D But... if it can happen, it will happen. Even if the artist here isn't around anymore, or isn't interested in drawing the artwork. I know a a super super talented tattoo artist who could make a huge drawing on skeletons playing Hold Em, with a set of their own DDLM chips on a custom DDLM table. You'd be welcome to play, but I'm in So Cal which is really far away from NJ. I'm 1.5 hours from the border so DDLM's big out here every year. Even a lot of the uncultured people tend to at least know about it. So it would make for a killer themed table IMHO. What I need to do is find some woodworkers and get quotes. I know buildyourpokertable.com has plans and kits with everything minus the wood for under $200. Maybe it'd be possible to get custom printed felt + their kit for everything else then pay a wood guy to actually build it for maybe a lot less than I'd expect. I looked at the custom tables on Gorilla gaming, and with even just a few "upgrades" I was sent into absolute shell shock lol. I've watched some time laspe table builds on YT, and for people who know what they're doing. It seems to be a fairly quick process. Of course these videos are edited and usually show the work being done at 5x speed. So I'm just assuming a skilled person could build a table from scratch in less than a day. I can't drop $2k+ on a table, Guess I'll see when I ask around.

These chips are really beautiful and a matching table would be the icing on the cake.

She doesn't know I'm on these forums, I'm sure she wouldn't even believe there are forums dedicated to poker chips (lol) And while I don't know who Ben is, telling her about him and how much he spent will just result in her telling me to not go on these forums anymore. Most females don't want their men watching porn or on Tinder hook-up apps. Mine doesn't like forums about BBQ or making pizza because they always result in me buying a lot of stuff "you don't even need!" A few months ago I spent $500 on an outdoor pizza oven, then $250 on a table for it. Here I'm looking at probably close to $500-600 for a set of custom 43's with plaques. And if I bought even a cheaper generic poker table, yeah she's not gonna understand lol.

This is why I should go and look up a few local lumberjack types and inquire about costs to build me a custom table "but honey, the custom table I configured on Gorilla Gaming was $3,500. I had an almost identical one made for half that!" That's a good deal no? no? oh...

Sorry I set off the alarm, but you might want to keep following this thread. I have a very reliable history of when I buy something, without fail within a few weeks. Either a new and improved version comes out, or a super deal's offered on the current one out of nowhere. I suspect 3 weeks after I buy BR might have an out of nowhere flash sale lol.

I was able to get a sample set of the 43mm DDLM from them. They made it a super simple process. I just emailed them and they sent me an invoice. Also, since all of the 43mm's are considered customs it won't cost you any extra to change denoms.

I’m looking to purchase a 500-600 cash set (non custom 39mm). Does anyone have any smart ideas on how to get them in the UK (England)?

they ship internationally. just intl shipping is expensive.

It would be a smallish cash game set I would go for too! Enough for a 1 table set.

I'm a bit jealous! If you need an extra player at your game lol wink wink!!

Hey @ABC Gifts and Awards, new user here. DDLMs are simply another level! I'm trying to acquire my first set ever, with those beauties. I'm a bit confused about shipping costs and possible taxes though, as I'm from Europe. Would you mind if I DM you? From what I see I would end up paying 60% more than the listing price... which makes the purchase practically impossible for me. But hopefully I'm wrong...

It’s probably best to email them chip@brpropoker.com

Welcome to the forum Marsellus. PM me your bill if you decide to pull the trigger and I will pick up half of the shipping cost and taxes.
Wait, what! :wow: Sir, I appreciate your kindness so much, but I couldn't put this burden on somebody else's shoulder.
You guys seem to have an incredibly nice community here. I'm impressed...

@Mojo1312, since @marsellus has declined I will reluctantly step up and accept half of his shipping cost and taxes.
