There’s another NAGB train coming and it’s not TRKs. ;)
Think it's time everyone acknowledges that although Paulson doesn't sell to the public, Paulson sells to the public.

What people thought was exclusive (custom Paulson chips) is becoming a commodity.

Another reason not to treat chips as an investment to sit on a shelf. Buy what you want to play with, play with the chips, be happy. Also, buy what you can afford (e.g. don't spend 10% of your net worth on a poker chip set, although for some it seems like it could be a much higher %).

If pricing doesn't go down due to recession, it'll likely go down due to volume. Bring on the chips!!

If so that will take a while for volume to go up and that would be given if people release their sets.

It's rough right now due to inflation.

But soon we will get to a criticality, where times get so tough for many players that they will start unloading those Paulson/TRK/BCC/ASM/CPC sets for lower prices.

I promise it's on the horizon. And it's not good.

The question is...who will have the $$$ to purchase the deluge of chips during those tough times ?
When it comes to TRKs, you won’t see ANY showing up in a future NAGB. If someone new to the market desires a turnkey playable set of Historical chips that possibly took a collector years to assemble, it’s going to come with a hefty price tag, recession or not.

Personally I’m not opposed to selling or trading with anyone, new member or old. I would however eat my TRKs before I let someone insult my time, effort and appreciation for them.

Yah the price of mine are only going up in the don’t wana sell it price category
Essentially not and never for sale
I’d never get anything like them back

It would never be enough money to change my life. Sell your crypto never chips

I think you make some great points @grantc54.
I’ve told members on the forum many times that if your going to collect chips, collect the chips that truly speak to you and your chipping heart and hopefully that leads you to chipping contentment.

Of the five completed sets that I own, NON of them were purchased with initial financial investment in mind. I typically buy what brings most enjoyment to me based on MY OWN specific tastes. I’m not an “everyone’s doing it” type of person, in fact, I’d say I’m quite the opposite of that.

My passion for TRK chips is mostly based on my love of classic Americana and history. I missed the “this will be a great investment” boat on TRKs by a long shot. Buying WTHCs in 2010 just so happened to be a great investment but many of my poker friends at that time questioned my sanity paying $1.15 a chip.

In my personal view, “perfection” is not something that is created, it is something that is discovered. My TRKs bring several of my interests and likes all together in something I truly love to do, splashing and dragging pots at the card table.
The investment aspect of chipping is nothing but a bonus to myself, it’s what the flipping mentality of the hobby will never quite understand.
Flippers ain’t chippers! ;)

Honestly, I have more of a problem with people snap buying chips for any price without doing their homework and then selling "at their cost" soon after. Or the deep pockets who came to the site and will pay anything to get what they want immediately.

To the same extent, people who hoard massive sets they don't play limit supply in the market.

It's the buyers and the hoarder who are to blame for the high prices!! If there were no buyers at high prices then the flippers would be f'd. If there were more chips floating out and available prices would be lower.

Finally, shouldn't people sell for what they think they can get? I've struggled with this, aren't you a sucker if you don't try to get the best price for whatever you are selling? This site hasn't been a community for a long time (the behind the scene elitist old timers are to blame for that).

If there was volume (screw the hoarders) and people researched before hand (damn uneducated overpayers) then prices would be enjoyable for all!

I think I've identified 3 or 4 more groups we can chase with pitchforks. Go get them!

They should tax the sale of them more. Then they will have to be cheaper to afford the chips + tax. Kinda like the $2 item on eBay with a $89 shipping charge.

I’ve hated her for a long time for stealing artwork and reproducing stolen IP, though I’ve been on a bit of an island. But now that she’s stealing a Paulson mold, she’s attracting a few more haters.
I know there are a lot of deniers but I think there is a non-zero chance that china H&C mold could be a nail in the coffin for Paulson H&C chips.

The molds only have so much of a life and I imagine it is easier and higher margin to do plastic. Or maybe they just stick to house molds? Whoever put that idea in Tina head is a moron. Cats out of the bag and there is no way she doesn't use it.

It's easy for us to distinguish but it will only take a few bozos trying to get one by the casino to raise a shit storm.

I think myself and any other TRK owners out there just might prove the TRK part of your statement wrong.
My TRKs will go to the grave with me before I let some “looking to flip” “Johnny come lately” with a couple bucks get their hands on my babies.

Will probably be as you say for all those other chips you mention but your wrong about these sets right here. ;)
“REAL” TRK folks aren’t SELLOUTS!

I'll give you $20 for both sets but not a penny more. Final offer.

1) Tina produces fakes
2) Idiots cheat casinos with fakes
3) Casinos dump GPI
4) GPI must sell to us

What's the difference between a hoarder and a collector?
Collectors collect singles and sample sets? Hoarders buy super massive set with no plans of ever putting it into play.

Your kids will sell them at a garage sale when your dead for Windwalker to swoop in, buy, and sell to his rich friends.

Save the sets for poker players who appreciate chips and understand the true chipping experience is playing with the chips (I am biased btw)!!

...or they just shelf the equipment or destroy it like they did with the BCC molds and clay recipe
