Sweet, looks like I'm not too late to give CPC my sweet cold hard cash

I'm not sure how it came out with the Google Docs. I expected tic marks, votes, numbers... I thought I left it all editable, but nothing changed as far as I can see.

It does put all the ideas tossed about into 1 central location, so there's that. But if interest was just run on the Forum chip idea, that did have a fair amount of support.

Is it possible to make a bracket type challenge were there are four for five different polls and then the top 1 or 2 from each bracket are moved to final bracket for final voting. I would only top 3-5 from this thread need to move on. I don't know if it is possible but can we just have poll and no comments to keep the poll threads from getting mucked up with extra bantha poodoo

Brackets? June Madness!

Late to the party, I made my votes earlier then kind of forgot to see where it was going. @Poker Zombie thanks for the list, I knew there where probably good names I missed in all the posts.

I know it's way after the list has been made, but here's just one more idea; one of my custom ideas I've gone over in the last year or so is a Silver Lake something or another (Silver Creek on the list made it click with me and this thread). The reason I bring that up is I was considering buying some blanks to get hot stamped when @jbutler mentioned he had a design mocked up a while ago for a Silver Lake hot stamp. I thought it was pretty cool and put just a tad bit of effort into contacting hotstampers and was met with not much luck so I gave up on the idea. BUt, I always liked Silver Lake Beach Pub or Silver Lake Poker Pub/Club or just Silver Lake as an idea.

Don't know if anyone is interested in that name and tweaking a logo but I thought it looked pretty damn cool (was hoping for silver foil on that design), just throwing it out there.

Love this project idea though no matter what, I really like hotstamps and the thought of a minty fresh piles of chips with semi-custom hotstamp makes me happy. :D

Another Quicky

can cpc hotstamp on any of their molds?
No. You can check their website for which ones are possible. Off the top of my head its horsehead, csq, a-mold, scroll and jockey. Think I'm missing one or two.

Haven't been here in a while - where does this stand? Moving forward to design/graphics? Pre-order submissions? Or are we still at voting? Just curious.

Thanks!

I'm willing to get the threads set up for the name vote. Would be happy to contribute. Just need to know how you guys want to do it: like Rowdy said, or some other way.

Question for CPC: Would we be able to keep the pricing the same if everything was the same except for the name on top of the denomination? So, using the OP as an example:

All chips would use the same "A" mold, same base colors, same denominations and same "no cash value" and "tournament" script, but each person buying a set could use have their own name on the top of the chip where "pepper st poker" is. So, "the forum", or "pacific club", or "royal cardroom", etc.

Such an idea might ensure maximum sales since there are undoubtedly people who will not order a set of these if the name isn't in their wheel house.

... Perhaps take, say, top 4 from this thread's poll, & make a Vote for 2 poll.
.. Add another thread for any additional names that were not in this poll yet, also vote for 2 .
.. Combined 4 winners from both threads face off in a vote for 1 winner ....

^^^^^^^ THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Honestly, if certain names win, I'm completely out of this GB. But if I can choose from 3 or 4 "approved" names by CPC, it would definitely hold my interest!!

@David Spragg ... what say you?

The stamp has to be custom made for each name, and that's where the total price skyrockets. By running it as a GB, the cost is spread out over 10s of thousands of chips. It's just not likely that this could even be remotely an option without increasing the cost.

Ahhh... makes sense. Bummer.

I'm also not seeing any way to fit a denom, plus "No cash Value", & also "Tournament" additionally along with a name as well, as the poster suggested ....

maybe... I believe another method for the die is to have the text on its own die and the denominations on separate dies. This allows one detailed text die to be made and multiple simple denom dies to be made... rather than several dies that are similar with the only difference being the denomination.

This concept might make it more feasible to have your own name... you are leveraging the denominations from the GB, but customizing your name die. Obviously this concept would need to be run by Spragg.

He's just referring to the "card room name" as shown in the OP graphics. Plenty of room for a name, denom, no cash value, and tournament (see graphic below). The concept is to have 3 or 4 "approved" names, like "Pepper St. Poker," "Royal Cardroom," "The Forum," etc., that you could choose from for your own specific order, and to suit your own tastes.

Sounds onerous and labor (ie, cost) intensive. You'd be running each chip set twice through the hot stamping process. Alignment would probably be a real bitch - and probably completely impossible from a QC standpoint. It's worth asking though.

Possibly, or the dies interlock, so you are essentially attaching the two dies together and stamping once.

As much as I'd love this idea, I don't see the economy of scale for CPC with the above ideas, that would allow them to offer discount?

And we all know the beautifully generic yet emotive 'Beechgrove Card Club' would fit the bill anyhow...

I'm just bored out of my skull and taking a break from several other projects...Just throwing shit out there. Probably not helping. Just convoluting an already huge mess of names and ideas:ROFL: :ROFLMAO::p
