Thanks everyone! I'd love to hear the discussion about
NAGB chips.
You guys teach me about
NAGB chips and the backstories and all of that. I'll make it my next years seminar. I really enjoyed doing this one so I wouldn't mind doing another one. I'm sure a bunch of the older guys don't know much about
NAGB chips and the backstories. Or whatever interesting topic you guys have an idea that would spark a great discussion like this one did.
I know most of the discussion was about Krish and how he's gotten to the point where he is, the chips he's found and what he really would like to do with those chips. I hope the majority of the people that watched the video or were at the seminar understand that he isn't really a singles collector. He might have a few, but the sets is truly what he loves to build. On top of that a majority of the sets he has don't leave his hands unless he truly doesn't love them anymore or he's got more chips coming than he has room for.
I believe that for the most part people are scared the amount that their chips are worth is going to decrease as they have been feeling the last few weeks. I enjoyed what
@ovo said, "I don't buy chips to make money, so the people that are concerned about losing money , when chips are discovered, is funny." I feel the same way. Sure it's fun to get a more expensive chip at a nicer price and even sometimes maybe a bit more than what you'd like, but you should be buying chips for what you think they are worth. If you feel that a chip isn't worth $1k, then why would you be paying that much for a chip.... If a rack is worth $1200 and you feel that it is, then buy it. Don't second guess it because it might be the only chance you have to get that rack. A chip is worth however much someone is willing to buy/sell it for. That's what I've learned and I'm surprised every single day.
