Guns you own (4 Viewers)

I have a legion P226 and P229 in 9mm. I love both, the P226 is a slightly different shape grip that fits my hands a bit better. Slightly longer and an almost imperceptibly narrower grip. The only negative for me is the legion slide catch lever is so small as to make it a bit difficult to release the slide using the SCL and most difficult to lock the slide back manually. This is comparing the gun to a SIG P229 enhanced elite with a much more pronounced SCL I think I prefer shooting the P226 … very accurate and easy to bring on target.

Had my gunsmith on text as I worked through a jammed cylinder yesterday...

Cylinder was jammed because the ejector rod was not tightened down... But I ended up giving it a full clean and lubrication.

As to magazine rounds.. the issue with bans and limits is the bad guy gets to set the time and date of the encounter…. They can plan, prepare, bring 20 magazines etc. and if they’re evil and intent on malice, then they could care less about round count. Why limit the good people to 10 rds. Yes, most gunfights are over in seconds, but most people under stress can’t hit crap…. Round counts matter
I have a feeling magazine capacity laws are going to be a thing if the past in the next year or so. I feel several of the SCOTUS justices want to make a statement related to completely arbitrary laws and natural rights.

Here's my afternoon:

  1. What's for lunch? (Goes in the pantry)
  2. Hey, that box is the perfect size for all my solvents, lubes and bore snakes. (Takes box to work bench.)
  3. Hey, what's that small plastic box on the top shelf? (Opens box)
  4. Hey, I was looking for these retention clips! Now I can clean my 1911!
  5. Gets 1911 out. Pulls and locks slide, affixes clips, releases slide, but it does not come off.
  6. Tryna remember disassembly... It's been awhile. Do I hafta pull the trigger like on the M&P?
  7. Pulls slide back again, round ejects. Whoops!
  8. Drops mag, clears weapon.
  9. Goes to the online gunsmith (YouTube) for disassembly video.
  10. Fetches old T-shirt and cuts it into 2x2 patches.
  11. Cleans and lubes 1911. Takes pics to send to @Josh Kifer and the group chat.
  12. Notice gun cleaning mat has dirt/fuzz on it.
  13. Get out vac and clean up mat.
  14. Put everything away.
  15. Go back to Step 1. What's for lunch?

Can confirm, got pics of the 1911. It's pretty.

Congrats on barely avoiding a desk pop!

Well, it was a gun day today…. Made a couple of solid purchases, and snagged a ton of accessories and optics.

the first one, straight out of the box is a Saint Victor 7.5..it actually came as a package with a Springfield Arms factory red dot. Have yet to install that, so we shall see of it holds up.

Made another bigger purchase, but it was an “order” so who knows when that’ll get here.. I won’t say what it is, but it’s coming from a company called BCM… :). I was told they aren’t supposed to ship until fall, but my LGS thinks I might get moved to the front of the line. We shall see.

I also snagged a new optic setup, a Vortex Viper PST gen 2, which will go on another project that I don’t think I’ve shared here…. :).

fun day

Let us know how you like the SBA4; After you get done rounds turn range.
This far I really dislike the adjustment aspect. It only has two “spots”. One that’s around 1/2” back and one thats 1-1/2” back. I’ll have to take some pics to show what I mean. In fact when you adjust it where’d I’d guess is “all the way out”, there’s no recess slot for the adjustment bolt, and it won’t stay extended (just collapsed back to the 1-1/2” extension slot.

but it’s a pistol and a super shorty PDW style, that I dont know if I’d rely on the brace all that much.

So I saw this photo today in the news about the Russian/Ukraine deal. I’m not sure which side this is, but I am pretty sure that’s a cardboard gun. Is this new 3D tech or something?

Must be the "recruits" that the NATO special ops teams are training to defend democracy. notice the guy even wearing a mask while holding a rifle to the right? the new guy or late arrive probably is handed to the wooden rifle. (could also be different colors on each side when zooming in) Also the actual soldiers in the background are carrying M4/M16 pattern rifles while all of the troops in training have AK-pattern rifles. The recruits are carrying either AK-pattern or VZ58 pattern rifles in a mixed bag of generations.

Lol half of them are wearing denim or euro jeans. Probably the camera crew posing for a photo op

The guy in the mask has his cellphone in his pocket too. Imagine being on patrol at night and getting a text alert, lol.

Nice trip to my LGS… the owner tempts me with this:

I did not buy it.. out of my price range…

So now that eFile form 4s have been going for over a month, anyone have experience with a suppressor purchase? They are claiming less than 90 day wait. People have been getting eFile form 1s back in 30 days for a few years now.

I’m in the process right now…just started Tuesday.
