I like this cash set, but if there's ever a Crown Plaza re-order I'm going to get a big set of cash from that. They're one of my all-time favorites. I missed the first order and have always lamented not having those.

Agreed. They are the main reason I didn't go whole hog on the Park Place. But I like em both!

Keep one? I think Crown Plaza for me. But man, that Park Place set is nice!

Not nearly enough chip photos in here, given all the deliveries over the past couple of days!!! Let's see them, fellas!!
I'm keeping 120 chips only from what I bought. It's a 2p-3p Pineapple Open Face Chinese Poker set. I can use it to play for 25cents to $2 a point. Starting stacks for $25 buyins and $100 buyins are in the second photo.

Probably nothing you would notice in play (especially by players like the ones that play in my games), but that seems like a pretty big difference given the price point.

..... no complaint at all, but did anyone else notice the differences in the print / color of the "park place, atlantic city"?
How many did you notice like that?

I didn't see any. I do think I would notice something like that, but haven't looked specifically for it.

In any case, these are premium chips at a premium price. That is clearly a defect and there shouldn't be any like that.

Yes, it appears to be a manufacturing defect and, without checking every chip, I have at least several with the faded printing. I don’t know if there’s anything we can do about it, but maybe @Tommy can answer.

For what these cost, I would consider the faint ones to be errors and would want them re-made. The $100 wasn't too bad, but this $25 would have me seriously tilted. If they were 35 cent cards mold ceramics, then just move on, but for well over $2.00 per chip, this is unacceptable.

There more "faded" than normal..

The 1usd chips seem to be the best, i havent any faded ones on the one dollar chips.

Before I can contact them about it, I'll need to know the following.

1) how many chips and what denoms
2) how many orders affected

Once I have that info, I'll reach out to them and see what they say. If they see it as a defect, then they should replace it. I counted out a lot of chips when packing orders and I didn't notice it or else I would have made an issue of it.

It is going to take a bit to get counts like this as I am mailing out chips to people today (already boxed and shipping in their sealed Abbiati boxes). Given the holiday next week, I suspect it could be 2 weeks minimum to get counts back to you.

The only thing that is printed is the label. The chip is injected with colored plastics that go into a mold. I don't know if Abbiati will do anything about it unless they see it as a defect. Once I have some data to tell them, I'll see what they come back with.

What does the other side look like for the one on the right? Is it both sides or just one side?

This stinks. I just hope that Abbiati makes good. I'd be very sad to see a Modiano-esque refusal to stand behind their product. The fading on the pictured chips is very noticeable to me. Unacceptable for the price point and superfluous charges that entailed in completing the buy.

I can check more closely tomorrow and will report back on my set.

Your enthusiasm is noted. Were you in the PP GB?

No, but I was considering getting in on the add on buy next year...

If there is a substantial amount of chips that are a problem and they don't see it as defects or offer to do something about it, I'll be done ordering from Abbiati that's for sure.

It's disappointing for me to see this. I know how hard you and others work to get a large GB like this off the ground. I just don't want anyone blaming you for issues that are beyond your control. As a prospective purchaser in a future buy it gives me pause to go through with it if a sizeable amount of chips have printing issues. It's a deciding factor in buying versus not for sure, at least for me.

Money's a lot tighter with a second kid now and my chipping/hobby budget is going to be nowhere near what it was previously, so I need to spend my budget wisely.
