In This Together (3 Viewers)

Sorry to hear that this happen to those affected. I just looked in my PM's and I had a conversation with this member and was attempting to buy a sample set of chips. I'm so glad that I didnt go thru with his ploy for a bank transfer. I would only use Paypal and there was an error in trying to send them a Paypal. After getting multiple failed Paypal attempts he suggested I use the bank transfer option. He even @ someone saying how it was successful with them.

As my profession in fraud prevention, I'm curious to see for those who were affected, if there was any other fraud associated with their accounts? Paypal, Venmo, bank account, or credit cards. It may be another avenue to get information about the former member.

With my job, I do know going after folks outside the US is practically a dead-end especially for the amount that is notated. The amount is very very minimal in terms of prosecution.

Again, sorry to those that this happen to and if there is anything I can do help, I'll be willing to do my best.

Member who met poppin in person:

Yes, I met him on several occasions. I sold a couple of racks of PNY chips to him.

In my dealings he was always friendly and respectful, and payment was always prompt. Not saying that should be indicative of all dealings with him, as I was dealing mostly in person.

I will say this about international shipping. I've had packages coming from the US stagnate in Bermuda or some other international shipping depot for over 3 months. Ultimately they did arrive, and I never made an issue about it if I had a tracking number that proved the packages were shipped. If Poppin92 shipped his packages he is technically correct that he did everything he needed to do and it is out of his hands. However, it would be nice if he would help in trying to figure out why it's taking so long for the packages to leave the country.

He asked to purchase 2 racks of PNY $1 chips from me a few weeks ago, but those are chips I'm not keen on letting go of, so I told him I'd think about it. Not sure where he got the 500 PNY$1 chips, but it wasn't from me.

I hope everything works out for everyone, but I'm sure permabanning with deals ongoing isn't going to help anyone who is still waiting on their shipments. I'm not jumping on the bandwagon (yet), especially considering my experiences with international shipping. However, feel free to shoot me an IM if you'd like me to relay a message to him regarding your transaction. Please keep in mind that I'm willing to act as an intermediary without any stake in this, and pissing me off isn't going to get you anywhere. Please keep your IMs with me civil and respectful.

Perhaps he would be willing to help with contacting the local police with all of the documentation.

I only know a Mary Poppins, and she's a lovely lady.

I'd rather put the proceeds towards one of the young women in his photos, they probably cost around the same.
I don’t know you, @Señor Tony , but you can tell a lot about a man how he characterizes women.

Side note: One of the “young women” in my pictures is my late brother’s daughter (i.e., my niece), and the girl next to her is her best friend and roommate.

EDIT: The more I read that sentence, the more I realize how uncouth it is. Shame on you, bud. I hope someone says something similar on a picture of your wife or daughter.

Guys, keep these discussions out of this thread. No need to be disrespectful towards each other. Krish, I realize his comment was insulting, but you could address this via PM. We’re trying to fix a problem here, not create more of them.

I'd probably expect a better response from Dutch police than American police. Though to be fair they seem fairly useless wherever you live.

They are pretty good here, especially when you drive slightly too fast, then they are all over you. Not so much when you report a real crime.
We have a lot of this in the colonies too. Half the murders go unsolved, but no traffic violation unpunished.

I particiapte in this forum from afar without the benefit of meet ups and the like to connect real people to our online avatars. Your forum image to me as a casual PCFer is a Dan Bilzerian type figure and the pictures you post - while real life for you - are pure fantasy/fiction to me.

My comment was definitely uncouth, no denying that. If I had thought whatever photo came to my mind when I wrote that comment had a reasonable chance of being your sister/niece/life partner/wife/relative then of course I would not have said it.

The context of whatever photo I remember seeing (and I can't remember which specific photo it was) was not a "Hey guys, this is my niece at our annual family backyard cookout!" type post.

It was a "Hey guys, I'm on holidays at a super exclusive and expensive place with this objectively very attractive young woman in a pool who definitely isn't my girlfriend/wife since I want to be a father but don't have a partner and definitely isn't my niece/relative since the trip is a clearly romantic getaway" type post.

In conclusion, I'm uncouth online once in a blue moon.

It’s a damn shame that the block feature only works for the classifieds and auctions. Nothing would bring me more pleasure than making sure someone doesn’t piss all over this thread in the same manner he’s pissed all over several parts of this forum. While you are incredibly busy figuring out how to spend $20k, there are other people here that are busy crunching their brains trying to figure out how to recoup it. Take your arguments and your attitude elsewhere. We’re done here.

I’m continually amazed by the incredible people on this forum

I may not *like* a select few people, but I’d happily jump in a foxhole with any of you guys. Not to be that sap, but I’m tremendously happy to have found this group of like-minded people.

Looks like I’ll be spending a significant time in North Jersey for the next three years (law school…) so I hope to one day catch a steak and some 1/2 with you @JMC9389, you’re a class act
Good luck in law school, friend. You bust your ass and rip up that first year, and it’s smooth sailing.
You have to learn a lot of bullshit their way, and there are plenty of good reasons for that. But when you finally sit for the bar exam, you’ll learn that the majority of it was to train you to spot issues. And there are a butt-load of issues in this thing we’re dealing with. If I’ve come off like a dick in this thread, whatever, but I’m just speaking my mind based on the way I’ve been trained to think. I’m sympathetic to your cause and I really would like to help, and maybe I’ll be able to, at some point. But the pedal to the metal mentality here just doesn’t make sense, with so many issues.

I've been trying to reach Poppin92, but have been unsuccessful so far.

I'm currently in contact with @horseshoez to see how we can best resolve this, but I'll reiterate that international shipping has been a mess since the start of the Covid crisis, and it can take months for packages to arrive at the destination. It's also not uncommon for there to be no updates for long stretches of time.

If your tracking information says the package has been received by PostNL, and the weight and dimensions seem legit, you should assume the package is still in transit and will arrive eventually.

If your tracking information says PostNL is waiting for the package from the seller, you should assume the package hasn't been sent. Now, if that's less than a week ago, you may want to keep an open mind and assume he hasn't gotten around to it yet. If it's been longer than a week, you should try to follow up with the seller to see what's keeping him.

You can tell a lot about a man based on what he wishes to happen to another man's wife or daughter.
You can tell about about a man based on what he wishes to happen to the poster that commented on the poster that quoted the poster that wished something to happen to someone based on what they wished to happen to someone else’s third step cousin, twice removed.

Thanks for trying to reach out, having a person on the ground will be helpful.

This would be the case typically but plenty of our shipments are more than a month old now, without parcel dimensions and no movement beyond the initial scan by postnl. Think we’re past the stage of reasonable doubt already.

If more than $19,000 is raised, does the extra go to Poopin? Perhaps it could be used for rehab. That's how a GoFundMe works isn't it
The extra goes into an endowment to be managed and invested by a most trusted PCF member with funds designated for use only in case of similar chipping fraud.
