Last nights game was a good reminder why i only watch this sport every other year. Substituting our only good player on offense with 20+ minuters to go and we already knew we wouldn't even try to get across midfield for the rest of the game. I get it, we're a small nation, and a draw against Spain is a very good result for geting trough to next round, but man... It's pretty f*ing boring to watch a team just try to eat the clock by taking close to forever at every oppurtunity before geting the ball in play.

Our goalie was great. That save early in the first half was fantastic.

This France Germany game boring as fuck. They should both be made to play their goalkeepers on the halfway line same as Scotland did  :ROFLMAO:

Was going to go for France for my selection, glad I didn't of the back of yesterday not mpressed by them or Germany

Italy look the best so far.
Hopeling they continue their unbeaten run, as I'm the only one who picked them in the sweepstakes.

Absolutely shitting myself for the Wales game later. I think it will be another 1-1 draw, sadly.

Every game is going to be tough for Wales but it's today you need to steal it. Think you can as well

After watching all the games from the first go around, I was mostly impressed with Holland, by a good margin. They reminded me of their great '94 team (that should have won the World Cup). Italy also impressed me on their first game. Maybe it is a function of their opponents, idk...

I thought England, France, Switzerland also played reasonably well. Belgium was alright and is a big question mark right now given their (arguably) three main players (other than Lukaku) are still out. Definitely not counting them out yet and looking forward to seeing De Bruyne back.

Portugal was bad, even with a 3x0 and Spain totally uninspired although dominating. (EDIT: Portugal was bad in '16 as well and still ended up winning the whole thing)

Shout out to Scotland for playing hard to the bitter end. That game was a lot closer than the 0x2 shows.

Player of the first go around for me was Holland's Wijnaldum with an honorable mention to Italy's Insigne and Switzerland's Embolo.

Out of all the teams, I think Italy were the most impressive for me in the first game. Traditionally they play slow, tactical football but not in this game.

On the other spectrum, I thought France did not look sharp enough considering the calibre of players they have, was expecting more. Passes were misplaced but they certainly have a few gears to go up.

Generally in these tournaments, the first game can be a bit cagey with intent not to lose.

Without taking anything away from the quality of the team and the performance of Italy, I still expect confirmation against an opponent a little more committed. Turkey was a sparring partner in this first game.

As for France, I don't know if we watched the same game. It could very well have ended 3-0 at their place in Munich. No one pointed out the outrageous refereeing for a game of this level. The 2 canceled goals were well off-side but the forgotten penalty on Kylian? The flying knee on Pavard's face? Is it football or MMA?

I think the team will get better as the tournament goes on.
