Ordering from CPC (4 Viewers)

I can’t attest to the feel as I’ve never held one before but it looks very clean compared to the others. I find most other molds too busy

I put in a 700 piece order last week on the Jockey mould so I'm doing my part to get it going sooner... are you?

So in this case, the Jockey mold won’t run for another 9x months. Is it ok to put an order in for the minimum amount and add more to the set when Dave gives the green light that it will be up and running next?

My understanding is that the biggest contributing factor to a mould going in sooner rather than later is the total paid orders and how many total chips that need to be produced for that mould... unless I'm wrong. So get those orders in and paid for folks!

I haven't handled all of the CPC moulds, but of the few I have, Jockey and Scrown are my favourite. I wish the Scrown mould had been around when I ordered my PoCo After Dark customs (not that I'm disappointed with the FDL mould). And I totally agree with the Jockey mould having that clean look.

Dave has been posting in this thread

and recently posted this....
DSQ and 44mm are in right now and will be for a good while.
44mm will probably be the first of those out, replaced by FDL.
Elephant & Crown will replace DSQ (only a small run) and then the Small & Large crowns.
Everything is subject to change though. Shit happens.
Lots of things occur that people never know about. A mold may have to be repaired. You can't leave a press empty for 2 weeks so something else goes in. That delays the repaired one had it been due in next etc.
It's moving targets all the time.

He also said that cutoff for ordering is 2-3 months before a mold is scheduled to be installed.
So best to contact Dave (sales@classicpokerchips.com) once you've decided on a mold to determine when you need your order in... that being
number of chips with base color and spots and of course payment

What inlay sizes are those?

You can but orders typically need to be finalized a couple of months in advance. The best thing for you to do is to have a dialogue with David about when your order needs to be finalized.

Has anyone here placed an add-on order to their existing set? I'm curious to know how consistent the colors are from separate batches. Normally I only place one order and avoid any add-ons to relieve me from such issues (if there is one) but I might have to do this on my next set. Just curious to know.

I have, for two different sets, multiple denoms/a bunch of colors. Both about 1.5-2 years after the main set. In terms of clay color, I didn't notice any difference.
There may be issues if you wait substantially longer - I think I've read CPC changed the formula for some of their yellows a few years back and that did actually change the shade.

Yeah I would definitely NOT recommend planning on add-ons UNLESS you plan on adding on within a year or so or add on a totally new denom altogether. I added on three times but they were all within a year of the initial order. No color differences at all.

Or, for example, you could put in an order for $.25s, $1s and $5s and order all that you need/want of those denoms. Then later, put in the order for all the $25s, $100s and up depending on your stakes.

There are definitely no guarantees when different batches are made for the same color though.

It would definitely be within a year (or next run of the mold).

I plan to place an order of

$1 x 100
$5 x 300
$25 x 100
$100 x 100

Add-ons will be for the $25 and $100

Confirm with Dave about add-ons. There is a 300 chip minimum for orders. Not sure if that applies to add-ons
Yeah definitely communicate with David. He did allow me to do a 150-200 chip add-on once but that could have been because I used the A-mold or some other reason not sure.

I don't do fractional add-ons so there shouldn't be a problem.

I plan to add-on

$25 x 300
$100 x 100

This doesn't seem like a lot, and one might say just suck it up and order the whole amount. But when the final average price per chip is about $7 it does add up.

Still debating to be honest.

Dayum what are you using like level 20+ spots? :) My three upper denoms were lvl 10 and 11 and I want to say they were just under $5 per chip.
