OK, so just went back and compared the HSI $1 to a normal RHC chip:
  • The inlay of the HSI is smaller; there's no doubt about that. The extra white around the smaller label is chip. It's not laminated.
  • I ran my thumb over the area where the smaller inlay meets the chip material, and although I can tell there's a change of materials there, I now believe that you would most likely NOT feel this under an over-label.
  • However, upon inspecting the entire area of the inlay+chip material, I still believe that this might be a hair less deep than a normal RHC.
So, I am not convinced that an un-laminated label would not cause spinners. I think the only way to find out is to try one (I only have laminated labels from Gear). But if the depth of this recess is the same as a normal RHC, I do not believe that the smaller inlay's edges would be able to be felt through.
I’ve tried both laminated and non laminated. I think they would both work okay. Non laminated absolutely no spinners. The thinner laminate, you can kinda feel it rubbing, but I think it’s still okay. I don’t think the thicker textured laminate, or that double thick glossy would work though, maybe those are a bit too thick.

I can take some pictures of gear sample labels on the sec 1as. I’ll see if I can find the sample stickers.

some opinions,

I like the larger label size , like the jack Detroit sample. I wouldn’t get any smaller than that. That size fits pretty good, easy to center and fills up the space good.

in terms of spinners and thickness, unlaminated would never ever cause a problem. It sits below the surface, only clay on clay is touching.

maybe @Gear can chime in, what are these A.S. 20s? Which of your product is this?

it seems these AS-20 labels would work for me, you can “feel” them chip on chip, but they don’t spin. (At least my small sample doesn’t spin) but it’s a much nicer quality than the unlaminated, and I would possibly buy these for my fracs. I think they would wear in well actually, with play.

anything else, gears thicker more textured laminated make spinners.

Glad we have some options.

maybe someone can chime in on what these samples from gear actually are, (Aurora Star-20s) I can’t quite decipher which it is. they seem like it would be “matte vinyl smooth laminate” or maybe matte vinyl no laminate, but seems nicer than that. and they are as thick as possible, like nearly dead flush with the clay, doesn’t spin, but you can feel the inlays touching each other and makes it a bit slippery compared to no inlay, but I would choose these, because they look so much nicer than the Jack’s with no laminate.

Works nice for extra chips like bounty, reload, etc as you dont need to stack them as often.

Sorry, new... but what is being sold? I don’t see any pictures or prices. I’ve never bought any “quality” chip(s) before (previous set, Amazon ... gasp, I know it’s bad). Any advice is appreciated! Thank you in advance

Go to the first page of this post and the first post has pictures and prices. ;)

Hi there everyone,

How do you work out shipping? Thinking of a 600 piece set. Shipping would be to Australia

....or do you have to wait until the sale?

Cheers
You’ll be charged shipping at checkout

Look at the very first post in this thread. Jim puts all info in his first post and updates as necessary.

Just get on usps.com and figure out how much it costs to ship a medium flat rate box from USA to Australia

Thank you, was looking on phone for some reason the pictures were not loading, I apologize.

Maybe a silly question but the “used” set of Paulson chips $349.00... are they just not clean? If you clean them would they look better is that why they are cheaper or is it that they are beyond cleaning?

Funny that because all the previous sales were on Sunday I was ready at 2 then realized just as I was logging in that it would be on Friday.

They are like anything else. They can be new and mint or varying degrees of used.

Usually Jim’s used chips will be casino used chips. They will be dirty and can be cleaned and will look better. But they are still used and you will be able to tell because edges will be rounded, etc.

But Jim has been doing this for a while and if he sells it then it will be accurately described and worth purchasing.

Amazing offering! From what I’ve been reading it’s impossible to “get” one of these Black Friday deals because they sell out so quickly. What have others experiences been?

Thank You for taking your time to explain.
