List of Paulson non-casino sets, including pictures (2 Viewers)

I've got Kings Crown sample, small set pics. My hundred is drilled I think. I don't really think Kings Crown should be considered Fantasy, but some think it is o_O
I'd love a clarification on this without searching. My understanding is that Kings Crown were real casino chips, made by TRK and then when the casino folded, TRK produced a bunch of fantasy chips that looked pretty much the same. Is that accurate?
And are you saying that Paulson also produced some Kings Crown fantasy chips?
Thanks.

you are correct, I mentioned this wondering if non Paulson sets would be included, just TRK on the kings crown. I don't consider this fantasy but some do.

Great list! I have some of the dogs if you want other pictures. I also have some of the Warriors, I think there are two versions. Also have few racks of "non-denom giant-inlay" presidents:

When you get a chance, can you take some pictures of each set and send them to me via PM (don't post them in the thread). Thanks very much!

The rodeo chips are pretty cool, and there’s a few people in my life I could gift this too. I’m guessing they are impossible to find at this point though.

Great resource. The only thing I see missing is the PCR v2 lineup (very close to the Avalon NCVs pictured). They also produced some random interactions of denoms with the same colors/stamps only different amounts (e.g. white 10s and white 100s). My history is fuzzy but iirc maybe some were sold by a Paulson directly and others via Apache?

GPI has never sold chips directly to the public, only to resellers. Most post-merger home set chips (Pharaoh's, Top Hat & Cane, Casino de Isthmus City, National Poker Series, World Top Hat & Cane) were brokered deals with Trademark Poker being the actual customer interfacing with GPI. Even the short-lived Gemaco 'promotional chips' were only sold through distributors.

If there hasn't already been a new thread with an updated compilation, it would be great if someone could update both this thread and the other thread referenced in the OP with the boat chips, beach chips, big top, etc.

Edit: And also this page, which is a great resource, and would be even better with links to pictures: https://www.pokerchipforum.com/resources/biggest-chipset-per-casino-owned-by-pcfers.52/ . It's a great resource not necessarily just for bragging rights, but as a compilation of all the poker chips known to exist that can potentially be collected in playable quantities.

What about Paul-Son? I seem to remember something about them having storefronts.

Paulson had stores in Atlantic City and Las Vegas, but that was pre-merger/GPI, and before the introduction of the non-casino molds (PAULSON CHIPS and Card Pip).

What did the store sell? Or was it just a showroom to entice casinos to order?

The history below suggests that Paul-Son/Paulson began selling chips to the public from retail stores as of 1994. I’m not clear on how/if they were selling home sets before that.

www.fundinguniverse.com/company-histories/paul-son-gaming-corporation-history/

“To take advantage in the explosion in casino gaming, Paul-Son began taking steps to become a public company. In December 1993, Paul-Son Gaming Corporation was formed to house all of the Paul-Son subsidiaries... In 1994, it forged a joint venture with JP Retail Enterprises of Louisiana, its distributor in the state, and opened a retail store, ‘Jacks or Bettor,’ to sell dice, chips, and playing cards as well as clothing, jewelry, and memorabilia with gaming motifs to the general public.”

They sold direct via mail order for a long time prior to the storefronts -- typically hot-stamped chips.
