I don't think BG can you see down there hanging around off his nuts, but I'm sure he appreciates your approach to adding fuel to the fire! I was running out of gasoline!

Eric is one of the nicest guys i know. He sometimes has a dry sense of humor, but he is never malicious.

Should his reply have been 3000 words like some of you guys?

Really, dude?!

I'm mostly trying to bring some levity to a situation the some people won't let die unless they have the last word (notice how long it's been since Brie said anything -- she in other threads, she reading, she's just not posting here). I'm gonna follow Brie's lead and show myself out.

That’s cool. I never interact with him on here, but he’s pretty consistent in mentioning me.

At the sake of being argumentative, three or four people does not equate to half of PCF last I checked. Several were unnecessarily 'defending her honor' when nobody had attacked it, like she was too defenseless to do it herself. Brie's posts were spot-on, imo.

Sorry I don't meet your page quota requirements needed to post a response, but it woud have been more relevant and timely had not your off-topic posts been present. Seriously, that's the best you got? I posted responses within minutes of reading the posts I referenced; sorry it failed the PCF Timeclock Police standard.

I have no problem with people wanting to discuss the actual issue -- either side -- but the unwarranted 'damsel's distress' narrative I found insulting to Brie and her status here as a member and independent person. I can't imagine it was done at her request or with her blessing. I certainly hope not.
 
So, speaking of things that are bullshit: a requirement to quarantine for 14 days when traveling into Canada, meaning going home this Summer is now no longer an option. Normally I wouldn't give all that big a shit, however this time it means:

- missing one of my best friend's wedding
- missing the birth of another great friend's first child
- not being able to introduce our 7 week old daughter to my Mom, Dad, Brother, Sister and the rest of the family and friends. This one stings most of all.

Skype saves the day, but just not the same.

Fuck off COVID.

You may now resume your previously scheduled programming. I'll show myself out now.
 
Bottom line fact:
Everyone had something to say. Some were succinct, some were long. Some mentioned one or two people, some didn’t mention any.

One single post came after everyone was done, reiterated everything, @‘ed various parties telling them everything they had done right or wrong, closed with asking people to now move on, or “let it die”.

And we’re going to pile on or discourage those that reply to that? You’re fucking kidding. I’m far more disappointed In the lacking response to that type of lording over the community bullshit then the original issue.

This really is bullshit.

My uncle and cousin had to quarantine for 14 days to visit their son/brother (my other cousin) who was dying. Thankfully, they got out of quarantine the day before he passed.

You can change the goalposts as much as you want. I fail to think that you don’t have the ability to critically think, see that the time has passed, and that we are beyond necessitating your play by play of everything.

How fu**ing dense is someone to think that they’re going to @ everyone, tell them if they were right or wrong, and then say let it die.

What in the world makes you think that your comments and insight into the actions of others is what should be deemed the end?

And if you’re so into naming names, then name the fu**ing people white knighting. Cause it sure as shit isn’t Chippy who said this has nothing to do with Brie, and this sure as shit has nothing to do with me who explicitly said it shouldn’t matter if it was Brie.

Don’t half ass just to fit your narrative, name your names and call put people, or just leave it at that, take the low hanging fruit, and name those that help your point and get you likes.

Your highness, I'd like to humbly state that in my opinion most people weren't necessarily defending Brie (she's obvious capable of doing that herself), they were objecting to the lack of transparency and consistency from the mods. Maybe if you took the time to read other people's posts you'd see that they actually agreed with most of your points (i.e. retracting bids is a no-no). I just don't see why the mods can't post the rules for clarity?

I'm not going to publicly debate this, though I've been glad to chat about this privately with folks and share my opinion to try to help smooth things over.
I will, however, say one thing to the group that I reiterate every few years:

We are all weirdos who drop ridiculous money on little clay/plastic/ceramic discs. Some of you nutbags have collections that are worth more than nice cars, or even cheap houses. Chip collecting is an escape from the usual batch of shit that life throws at us. As an added bonus, we get to meet some quality people, learn things about poker & casino history, as well as how to play some really wacky poker games. There's a ton of reasons to be thankful for this community, but the moment this place causes you stress, it becomes a shitty escape. At that point, you need to step back, take a deep breath, and realize that your PCF persona does not define you.

And if that doesn't work, find solace in the fact that we are fucking nerds. And the only reason that we talk shit online is because people mocked us at some point in our lives. Don't let some some random internet nerd waste your flavor. You are better than that.

Lol, he's out again. Hilarious that you said 'moving on' about 5 hours ago with what looked to be your final statement, yet seem intent on skewering me with what you claim is the exact same thing. Sorry I was working / driving / banking / eating during the 3 hour delay after your post, since that seems to be really upsetting. You really should pay more attentiin to post times than page counts if you want to gauge time relevancy.

I never 'called for an end' to discussion of the actual issue -- just the lunacy referenced in my post (defense of attacks on Brie that never happened).

And I appreciate the petrol; you never fail to deliver.

As for WK names, two for sure would be Tuna (who started this mess) and Ben (arguably understandable, though not warranted imo), along whoever it was that wanted to start a frickin' write-in campaign (too lazy to look it up). They all made this personal about Brie, when all I cared about was that (hooray) we finally had a process to deal with the issue of bid/dibs retraction, which is a potential virus that could kill the chip market classifieds if unchecked. Unfortunate that such a stellar member was tagged (or called out publicly, why do that to a friend?) but she seems accepting of it per her posts here. If she doesn't want to make it personal or about herself (and I don't think that it is personal), the WKs shouldn't either -- again, I find it pretty insulting to her as a person. Her big-boy pants are as capable as any other member here, more-so in some cases. Treating her with kid gloves or overtly and needlessly defending her like she's helpless is a sign of disrespect, imo.
