Hi all from Toronto, Canada

I've been a casual poker player for a long time (always playing with dice chips) but I actually got into poker chips through board games. I play a lot of economic games and chips are infinitely better than using paper money that most games come with. After extensive research, I upgraded my dice chips to poker knights (why would you spend more than $100 on a set of poker chips?) and now recently pulled the trigger on a set of china clays from Apache. I also have a set of ceramic chips ("Iron Clays") that came with a deluxe game kickstarter but I don't like the feel or the aesthetics of ceramic chips - maybe I just need to try better chips.

Now I'm thinking about organizing some more poker games just to spend some more time with these chips.

Thanks for reading!

Welcome! What kind of games do you guys play, tourney or cash?

Awesome background.
It’s good to know what you’re looking to find.
You checked a series of boxes with those purchases.
You’ll find a ‘keeper set’ in no time.

When we get a proper game night going, it’s usually tourney with $20 buy in. That happens less often since we had kids. My wife likes poker but not gambling so we often play no-stakes pickup games when friends are around. Harder to keep people engaged in the game when there’s no money on the line but my skills are pretty bad so I don’t mind the practice :D

Welcome! There are many board gamers members here, glad to have ya join!

Thanks! Yeah, once you realize how much better even a crappy set of chips is over the garbage that comes in most board games, it’s a slippery slope...

Thanks! My wallet is a little nervous but it’s very cool browsing PCF and seeing the incredible variety of chips out there
