Hi all!
Not sure how many Canadians you have on here but here I am!

I have been a sporadic reader on here as I have loved reading the forums over the years. I have finally decided to make the jump into signing up!

Chips collections and poker gear: I have a few collections of chips and have bought and sold a ton of poker gear over the years. Mostly to keep upgrading as well as wanting to be a part of the poker world.

What I have been up to: Lately I have been perusing the forums about shuffletech (bought one a while ago in an estate sale) and looking to build a size cart with a shuffletech installed.

Running games: I have had a hard time wrangling the troops for home games and find it to be stressful to get confirmations so the games haven’t been regular but are always a success when I host.

For years I have had a lot of stage fright when it comes to jumping into casino rooms or even online rooms to play. I don’t shoot loose and I just haven’t been able to fit it into my life. I love poker. I love everything about the social side of it as well as the strategic play of it. I especially think I could improve over time. I know I am patient and I have discipline.

I hope to meet some good people on here and I look forward to talking.

See you on the river.

Warm welcome from BC, Canada Dave!

Awesome of you to join up!
Thank you!!! Any words of wisdom? How’s the west coast for poker?

Welcome from Mississauga!
I am very close to Sauga!!!

Can anyone help explain the ropes to me here? I mean what brought all you here? What keeps you here? I really am excited to join!

@Coyotesetter @Han Trinh

Another player and game host. Let the party get even bigger!

@davethesave , you ought to meet these guys! They've got a game that's out of this world! So fabulous I was going to play there at the end of May, but then COVID-19 happened and f#$ked it all up!

It’s the people that keep you here. We all love poker chips and poker, but the sense of community is what does it for me. The collaboration, discussions, pictures of chips and game set-ups, awesome vendors, I could go on and on.

And I still haven’t attended a meet up yet....but I definitely will in the future....COVID messed up my debut but I’ll make an appearance once this passes. Even just to have a drink and share chipping stories.

Ya this covid garbage is scary and it really makes you think about how important interaction is to our daily sanity.

Hello and welcome!

There are tons of fellow Canadians on here! In fact, this place would be much poorer for the experience if they weren't.
What does it mean if you are a site vendor? Is there a legend of some sort that can show rankings or explanations of each persons “badges”?

I'm only a temporary vendor; in fact my status expires in 3 days. Site vendors are official forum sponsors by providing some money to support the site.

Feedback ratings are also important if you're looking to do some buying and selling directly with other members.

Welcome Dave.
When I joined the site I was looking to add to my WTHC set but found the wealth of information and those willing to share is astounding. More than just collecting chips.
Enjoy and any questions just ask away, you'll get lots of help.
Cheers

No legend but WTHC refers to the World Top Hat and Cane chips made by Paulsons. It was made when Paulsons still made chips for home use many years back.

This may be naive of me... but I have Monte Carlo millions and some other chips of similar elk ... are only paulsons the coveted chips here?
*feeling unworthy*

Great to have another canuck on board.
Where in the great white north are ya?

Edmonton.
And once you start using Paulson chips they kind of spoil you for anything else.

Welcome

Don't be intimidated. The best chips are the ones that work for your game and are in your price range. If you don't have a regular game then high end chips may not be worth it to you. Also mostly chippers care about chips. Most people wouldn't notice the difference or care.
