I recently purchased 4 barrels of the PCA Secondary $25 and 4 barrels of the Aztar MO Secondary $25 for my mixed set and found myself trying to determine which I like better. Still haven't decided, but I figured while I was at it, I'd ask the forum what your favorite Paulson $25 chip is. Please include a pic if it's not one of these two.

I don't have a picture of it alone, so I'll update the picture later, but I'm a big fan of one of my newer $25 acquisitions.

edit: FWIW, the label on the $1 relabel in the upper right corner matches much better than the picture suggests. The lighting when I took these made it look otherwise.

Did a lot of looking to confirm. The Par-a-Dice chips look better in person. I've never handled a PNY, but the liberty inlay is pretty nice.

^^^ I've never seen $25s that I like better than those. Awesome.

EDIT: At least not any Paulsons that I liked better :)

I love the PCA 2° $25 and it's probably my current fave. The Aztar is close but I just don't feel it's edge spots and edge spot colors are the most appropriate for a 25. The mint green on PCA is just such fire. PCA all the way.

I use $20's though since I play limit games and 25's confuse the math for my cash players.

Here are a few of my fav casino $25s:

Pointe After
Savannah Sun
Player's Hotel Casino
Four Queens
Lake Tahoe Horizon
Lake Elsinore
Outpost Casino
Eddie's Fabulous 50's
MGM Marina
Sands Casino
Nooksack River
Honest John's
Red Lion Inn
Colorado Belle
Joker's Wild
King 8 Casino
Regency Cruises
Royal Venture (primary)
Mark Twain Casino
Mesquite Star (both versions)

Here are those not already pictured in this thread:

This thread is kind of reinforcing my latent opinion that $25s are a denom that's most likely to be a dull chip. It's hard to find stunners.

Agreed. When i try to put together a mixed set, $25 is usually the weak link.

Otoh, for cash games, there are many terrific $20s!

Considering my own criteria, aztar $25 was the best choice, even if it isnt the only aztar of my set.

Reasons :
1- the flashy green is awesome, other green seem just ordinary.
2- I need a red $ value on the down half of the inlay
3- I need a shaped inlay

For reasons 1 & 2, PCA is out, and i havent found any real other possibility instead of my aztar 25

In your case, we cant answer you while we dont know what are your other choices for the other values.

The real question isnt "which one you prefer", but "which one will match better with the others"... That's much more complicated to answer.

Recently I saw a sale of blue chip quarters, and figure i could add a rack of it and a rack of $1 to make my set mixed for cash and tourney. Those 25c blue chip were amazing, but impossible to find a good $1 which could match with it and the rest of my set.

GL in your quest !

Not a fair question!

Off the top of my head, Vineyards and PNY (primary) are two that I like a lot.

Interesting. When I look at my mixed cash set along with the two $25 options from the OP (PCA Secondary, Aztar MO Secondary), I think the $25 might be the highlight of my set. By no means the dullest.

And of all the posts today (thank you btw), the Mark Twain's and the Grand Casino Gulfport really jump out for me too. First I've seen of the Mark Twain.

Here is the latest version of the mixed set in question, but more changes on the way next week.

I've always found this to be the case as well. I've also found it difficult to come up with a good custom green $25 chip as well.

I wonder if anyone with knowledge of color theory could give any insight as to whether it's intrinsic to the color green and whether it might be further complicated if you're trying - as I do - to avoid red and black as spot colors since they are the traditional base colors for the surrounding denoms.

All that said, here's a green that I LOVE:
