Don't know if this has been covered before but comes up from time to time talking with friends. I started actively buying sets at the end of 2009 and went through many sets trying to find the right fits for my games.

Bought Treasure Set and maybe had it for 2-3 weeks and used it in one of our regular cash game. Got complaints on too much red in the $1's and players did not care for the X-Mas $5's PLUS I got crushed that night in the game. Next morning it was on eBay and Gone! One of my all time favorite Hundos though! Never missed it for a second.

Wow the 1's, 25's and 100's are off the hook! I don't care for the color matching inlays but otherwise that was a very cool set!

My first set of chips was a Milano CC set. Got them in, took some pictures and within a week or two they were up for sale. Never even played with them. Otherwise it was a Ace's Casino set I had for a couple weeks and never got into play. Just couldn't figure out a game my players were willing to use 2's and 3's at.

One of my favorite sets.

Just don't spend too much time thinking about how much they'd be worth now if you'd held onto them...

I'm not a huge flipper. I guess the set I unloaded fastest was a set of PNYs which I had for about a month. At the time I didn't like the feel of the giant inlays, but I kind of regret selling them now. I'm less thinking about the money they could be sold for now and more the amount of money I'd need to shell out to get them again (I had 4 racks of $1s).

I had a set of Garden City Paulson's for about three days. Loved the fracs but didn't care for the rest of the set. Won't own giant inlays again. Probably won't own a set of RHC's again.

Oh I thought you sold them already.
It really would not have surprised me! :ROFLMAO::ROFL: :ROFLMAO::ROFL: :ROFLMAO:

Fair enough. These chips are awesome. I love the giant inlay. Design, colors, feel, ect.......they are a close second to my sunsets

My Tropicana set is the newest set, and thus the one I have had the least amount of time - maybe three months. It's second visit to the felt is set for January 28th.

I can't imagine the idea of selling a set for anything less than crazy money -=- DrStrange

So you have all of the chips we need.

I didn't say I was a "good" collector, my sets pale in comparison to everyone on here.........my first real Paul-sons are just the Horseshoes, and I've been around CT and PCF for ~8+ years........

If it makes you feel any better, you live closer to these chips than most people on here. ;)

The set I owned for the shortest amount of time was a PCA primary cash set. They were to worn for my liking. I used it for a travel set for a short time but the game I took them to most often had poor lighting so the players had a hard time telling the $1's and $5's apart.

It really was a blessing though because I then started buying the PCA secondary chips and absolutely love them. They are the set I will never sell (unless someone offered an obscene amount of money that is).

Yup, there's too much red and green all over the first three denoms of that set, and they're generally a gaudy mess, and I totally love them.

Personal best: CPS set -- I could tell the second I saw them that I could not deal with the crosshatching, and posted them for sale before I even finished unloading the box.

Close second: Crystal Parks, posted same day. They did NOT work for me.

I once picked up a vintage chip set (ship's steering wheel) from a local Craigslist ad and sent it out same day... but I only bought it because I knew a chipper here wanted them, so it may not count.

I think I bought them from you. Used once and sold them to a friend. Still play on them a couple times a year. Better than the dice chips he was using

Individually I like all of those chips, but as a set, it is a red and green overload for sure. I can't imagine trying to play with them on a regular basis.

Bahamia's. Got them in one game. Put them up for sale the next day. Did not like the slippery giant inlays.

Same here, except after I put them in play once (and found them to be too slippery for my taste), I waited almost 4 years to actually sell them.

These. I just got them in last night. :). Who knows how long they'll last. Probably years. But as of now, these are owned the least time...

I'm a black hole for chips. Nothing ever escapes. Hell I even have dice chips and those plastic "interlocking chips" that are still in the game-room somewhere.

11 sets have crossed my event horizon, and I'm still looking for an affordable 2-table limit set. Or two 1-table limit sets. Probably both.

EDIT: 12 sets.

Yeah, I have affectionately named my chip closet "Hotel California"........ chips can check out, but they can never leave.

Although I have sold off about 10K in the past year or so, in an effort to downsize. Promptly replaced them with about 8,000 new chips.
