Thanks for the information. Just got the 1450.The larger case, the one I have, fits 600 chips nicely, with room for accessories... I know I could squeeze in more chips, but then it'd be a bit cramped. Up to you.
Every time i see the title of this thread i can't not think about that scene in Major League.
"Hats for bats. Keep bats warm."
"Case for transporting chips. Keep chips safe."
I really like your setup! And each rack is three deep? I like that as well. I would like a case for 1000 chip set. Would you recommend a pelican 1520 for that size or a different size of pelican case? With my upcoming tournament season about to start (19 Players) I needed to have a solid transport case for my tournament AND cash set. I have been following this thread and finally decided to buy the Pelican 1520 w/ foam case ($114). Love it! I have a 600 Tournament,20 Player, T7500 Starting Stack on one side and a $2100 Bank Cash Set on the other including setups and buttons. Each rack you see goes 3 deep. Heavy little thing but my babies are safe and snug! [emoji41]

I can't speak to a different case model ... only that I've been thrilled with mine. An interesting note: several of my players raze me about my "over the top" everything... not least of which was my pelican case for POKER CHIPS? Well I have been keeping the tournament Redbelly's in my friends back storage space who hosts my games... He had a hot water pipe crack and spray water all over the storage room for TWO DAYS before he walked in to find it! Nearly everything ruined! My chips? Not so much! PRICELESS!I really like your setup! And each rack is three deep? I like that as well. I would like a case for 1000 chip set. I think it deserves to be noted that there are two versions of the 600 ct. acrylic cases.
The second one is great. I use two of them to transport my set of 1200 GCOPs. The first one has stopped selling from some vendors due to it's inefficiency and tendency for the clasps to break.
So is this sacrilegious or ok? (if one were to go for the cage)

I realized I have not posted pics of my Pelican on this site. Here's what I primarily use:

Here's what I posted about it on another site:
I have a Pelican case, and I love it. I went with the smaller 1510 and got the lid organizer. It's a rolling case. Mine is set up to hold 1000 chips in 4x25 plastic boxes, and a bag I can carry my bankroll in. I called it my "tournament in a box" kit.
In the lid organizer, I have 14 decks of cards (and it could hold 18 or 19), 2 timers, extra batteries, dealer buttons, and card protectors. This lid organizer for this size case would not allow as many poker size decks -- 10 or 11 at most.
You can order custom cut foam, but I cut my own using the pick-n-pluck foam that comes in the case. One great thing is that you could order extra foam and cut it to a different configuration if you wanted to. I was originally going to custom cut a place to put cards, but realized I could easily fit 14 decks of bridge-size cards (10-11 poker size) in the lid organizer, thus saving me from having a cut out area for cards.
Instead of using the screws to install the lid organizer, I attached Velcro to the inside of the lid and the back of the organizer. That way, if I don't need what's in the lid, I could easily remove it and put the foam top back in.
The case can easily be rolled and carried to another location. For me, most of the time it is rolled from a closet to the dining room, but I’ve taken it on the road several times. At the end of the game, I reload it and it is ready to go to the next event.
I don't really think of its protective aspects as much as I think of the convenience. However, it's hard for me to imagine a tougher, more flexible case that is easy to transport. With shipping, the whole thing came to less than $200.

I just got my pelican 1510 case. Looks like the recommendation is to place racks directly next to each other. Ok. I'm trying to fit 1000-1200 chips, but also wanted room for my poker genie and cards. Shouldn't be a problem. My question: It looks like I might be able to stack the racks 3 high (or deep..if you will). Am I missing something, I think from looking at all the picks that people are only stacking them 2 high. Thoughts?
Sparty, seriously consider getting a lid organizer. It will hold a lot of stuff. If you are using racks and want a lid organizer, I think you will need lids on the top racks.
One thing you could do if you want a lid organizer but an open top is to cut a little deeper and have a layer of foam you could lay on top of your racks. It would be easily removed, but your chips would be up against foam, which would keep them from coming out and protect them from hard items you might keep in the lid organizer.
I'm not honestly sure how big a Poker Genie is. I've seen one, but it's been so long and I didn't even consider the possibility of getting one to carry in my Pelican, so I don't know that it would fit in the lid organizer. If you get the lid organizer and it won't fit, you can cut foam to accommodate it and put it in with the chips.
The lid organizer will hold several setups of cards (more in bridge size than poker size). Mine has 4 pockets that would each hold 2 bridge-sized double setups. With a Poker Genie, you don't need timers, but mine holds timers, dealer buttons, cut cards, and card protectors easily.
Since I don't use racks but use the 4x25 boxes instead, I can't say what 3 deep would be like with racks. I could fit 3 boxes deep if I wanted to cut deeper. Getting the lowest boxes would not be a problem if you allow a little room. My experience is the boxes don't slide easily on the foam. I suspect a little room around the racks, say 1/2 an inch, wouldn't allow racks to move around much.
Trihonda, you may have cut for a tighter fit than I did. I cut to allow some room around the chips. If they are a tight fit in there, it would be difficult to get to the second layer, and the 3rd layer would be even worse.

Looks awesome man. Best of luck with your new NPS set!View attachment 82203
Here it is! I love it.
I just customized my pelican 1510 for 1200 chips. They sit 3 racks deep. Using the unique 4200 (paulson) racks. This works great. I could fit another 300 as you can see. Also have 36 plaques and nine decks of cards with the poker genie and dealer / blinds buttons. It's kinda heavy, but I love it!
