Hi Home Gamers,

We had an interesting, likely one-time, guest player the other day at our weekly tourney. We play in a suburb of Rochester, NY. We welcomed a 22 year old tennis pro from New Zealand this past Thursday. He was in town for a tennis tournament at a nearby tennis club and found our game via Google. He is staying with a family that are members of the tennis club and they actually gave him a ride to our game! He fit right in, played well, finished third (out of 12 players, 20 buyins) and we are bummed he can't come every week.

So cool!

Who has been your most interesting distance guest player??

We had a Brazilian lab mate who had a boyfriend back in Brazil. This gentle giant visited ONCE and took all our money, never folding, huge jovial laughs from a 6'4" guy that took up half the table. Loved having him at the table but I still call that period of time "the Brazilian wax" for the effect it had on my bankroll.

He went home and sent me a picture of them using the 2012 WSOP cards I'd given him, made me happy. Spread the love.

@BonScot flew to Idaho from Scotland to play poker and me not understand a single word he said.

I love him.
Correction: He flew to Seattle, stayed with me and my crazy family, and had a 9 hour car ride with just me to Boise and back.

And he was an absolute joy to have at the meetup. We even got a private drawing session at the poker table!

That was a road trip!! I drive less than an hour to Edinburgh and I get traumatised  :ROFLMAO:

@17und4 came to Berkshire Event in Omaha, NE all the way from Germany! Honored to have him play at my home game. Played in short sleeves despite the cool evening! That’s him on the near side of the Paris topper table.
There’s a few short sleeves playing. :cool

A friend in his late 60s brought his brother, who was stuck at our player's house, due to his truck breaking down. The guy never played poker, only casino blackjack. He cleaned us out. One of his early large pots, he didn't know he'd won. He asked his brother what to do and the response was, "take his chips". Instead of taking the pot, he turns and takes ALL of the stacks in front of the losing player! We almost died. The player's face was priceless! Fortunately, I and another player knew the stack count, because we were tempted to call.

Another player brought his dad once. It was a freaking hoot. He sat right next to his son, put down his cooler of beer, and said, "you've been a bullshitter all your life and I'm calling you all night long." And he did. Too funny.
