So I sold these Chips on Facebook marketplace last week for $45 and now the guy turned around and put them on eBay with this description

Because I’m packing my house for a move and ran across them. Needed to sell them fast and didn’t want to have to pack them up take them to the post office. It was a local sale and I delivered to the guy a quarter-mile from my work. Plus they are not the sort of chips most people buy here. They or too close in color on the ones and fives, are faded and wobble.

Not being "that guy" but if you think there is a poker chip collection for 45 bucks that the group here WOULDNT buy....

Fair enough... next time for sure. You could always send him a best offer for $46 and tell him you know he’s making a profit

Totally unrelated and asking for a friend....what are the proper options when reporting misrepresentation on eBay. Or more specifically abusing keywords like Paulson. It's not allowed.

I myself would not buy them, but we all have poker friends who come to our games and like our chips. They host with dice chips, and mention if we find cheap chips with denoms on them let them know. I have 2 people I play with who want to pay dice prices for chips. This is a dream set for either of my buddies. And now some jackass is selling them for over a $1000.... They could of seen felt...

No the deal was facilitated through messenger. Actually dropped them off to his son. Both were quite nice.

I think you need to be an actual buyer of the item to file a complaint. I don't believe there is a way to simply report a listing you have not bought. Having said that I have heard that the process for reporting people and items is very poorly enforced. In other words eBay is more interested in keeping items selling and making their cut than enforcing accuracy.

Yeah that part is weird. Definitely the same Chips. Wondering if he has his account set up that way. I know someone else who lives in North Carolina but eBay says they are in Vegas

I don't believe there is a way to simply report a listing you have not bought.

Sure you can:

Report category: Listing practices

Reason for report: Search and browse manipulation

Detailed reason: Misusing a brand name

Having said that I have heard that the process for reporting people and items is very poorly enforced. In other words eBay is more interested in keeping items selling and making their cut than enforcing accuracy.

This I would agree with. Still, one or two reports isn't going to make a difference, but 40 or 50 might.

How dare someone buy a bunch of chips for cheap on Facebook and then try to sell them for big money somewhere else.
Thank god I’m on a site where we would never do that to each other.

For all you reporting these, please also go after the other 29,000 listings that have the words Paulson or Casino Quality or Clay in them so we can finally clean eBay up and make it the respectable marketplace it promises.
