I have been inspired by @FDLmold , @louBdub , and @FestiveKnight with the rat rod sets they have been putting together, so much so, that I have been working on a set of my own.

I am doing fine with the 1s, 5s, and 25s, but the $.25 fracs are hard to come by. I am currently looking for, and will consider ANY yellow .25 chips. At this point I am looking only for clay chips and am good with any mold, any make, any type be it a casino, personal creation, or whatever. Show me what you got and maybe I will buy it! This is for a rat rod set after all..

Thanks!! Yeah, I know I am limited on what is out there, but this being a rat rod set, I can use anything I want that makes it work.. lol. I have some pink .25s on the way in limited numbers (guessing they must be Outposts? Ill have to check). And I have the line on some various yellows as well. I am going to do a mixed set of pinks and yellows for now and someday when I get enough of one or the other, I can go one direction.

My 1s are dirty as well as I am doing white, greys, and blues for now as well. Your set is a lot more streamlined as you are doing leaded THC's only. My lines are a lot farther out where I am doing any cool "older" chip that does not have an inlay larger than a THC. But I am doing THC and other molds as well including HHD, house molds, and whatever else as long as it is older, cool, and 39mm.

My 5's are red and orange, 25s are green, and 100s are black. Doing both inlays and hot stamps on any chip denom. So its truly going to be a mixed up rat rod set.

The one thing that I plan to do down the road is make a Rat Rod dealer button with my Rat Rod on it, and if the 3 of you want one, I will be sending one to each of you for inspiring me (although, this "set" is an expense I wasn't anticipating and I shouldn't be as thankful as I am! LOL). I may be making the dealer button sooner than later once I can figure out a good way to get an actual photo as a vector, or convert it somehow. Ill play with it in Illustrator when I find some time.

Doh, and I missed that you said Inlaid... Ok, yeah, I had not seen those until @buffalojim posted a picture above. So the pinks I have coming are not those as they are hot stamped.

I did a hot stamp yellow $5…. And that’s not what I’m talking about with expense….

I’m an old car guy, with all sorts of cars throughout my years…. But now…. (And here comes the unexpected expense)

I’m thinking about throwing a rod together for a toy driver lol !!!!!! WTF right!? This damn set got REALLY expensive if it goes down that path. Fml.

I've had my share of show quality builds over the years and always sold them after finishing them and enjoying them for a while to fund the next one. But once I got the 31 Vicky, I am done and she is a keeper. Its nice that I don't have to spend hours and hours detailing a car before car shows anymore. I just make the motor shine and then dust off the rest and she is ready to go... LOL!

Yes, a set like this is an added expense. But if you value hunt a little bit here and there, it's worth what you pay for it whenever you want to divest. Think of it as a renter's deposit, which you get back when you're done. I've got over $5k into my rat rod, and it's probably worth more than what I've paid for it so far.

Yeah, I am in the same boat, I do not want to know what my set is costing, and I am trying to stay on the cheaper side of chips. But it still adds up, and fast! If I don't keep track, then I don't have to face my irresponsibility.

I was able to locate 3 of the different inlaid Harrahs pink .25 fracs tonight, so those are on their way and will be fun singles to mix in. But Im still going to have to find a bunch more cheaper fracs if I'm ever going to get around the 200 total I want.

Okay, lets change this up a little. Dropping the pink fracs from my hunt as I wasn't thinking when I started as to how close those case get to red 5s. So now, I am purchasing yellows and anything in that vein of color, including any shades of yellow, peach, and light beige. I still need a bunch so let me know what you have and lets work out a deal!
