Tourney WSOP ME Now T50,000 Starting Stacks? (1 Viewer)

They changed the stack sizes and blind levels because people like dnegs decided they wanted a structure change. Not just for this event, at least all of the 10ks and possibly everything.

Choice Center told them to change it. When Choice Center tells you do to something, you choose to do it. No exceptions. No returns.

Does anyone know the starting stack breakdown on the 50k ?

Seems silly to me. $10k for 10k chips seems logical.

So I'm guessing players entering your $40 buy-in tournaments are issued T40 starting stacks?

Put another way, final table, Player A raises a bajillion dollars. At some point the figures become meaningless. I think its a lot better for spectators to understand the actual value on the table.

If I'm paying $10K to enter a tourney I want some serious play - like blinds at 25/50 to start with a big stack (bigger than T10K).

If I pay $50 to play a tournament I still prefer 20 - 30k. I don't see a point in playing a tournament where final table is less than 40bb avg

I think that's the entire point. When chips on the table = cash value, subsequent play is a lot different from when the numbers are meaningless (in terms of dollars). The numbers are not meaningless in terms of play, however..... provided one can perform arithmetic.

Do you happen to know the breakdown of the starting stacks of the 50k ME ?

I haven't seen any clear pics of the 2016 starting stacks, but it appears that they merely added extra T5000 chips to previous starting stacks to reach 50,000:

8 x T25
8 x T100
2 x T500
8 x T1000
8 x T5000
--------------
36 chips = T50K

Starting blinds are 75/150, so 333-1/3 starting BBs.

Man, I remembered seeing a picture of the WSOP ME starting stack somewhere -- and I just found it on Twitter: https://twitter.com/randomcrayon/status/752585959720357888
This starting stack is from Day 1C (July 11, 2016) and is 8/8/2/8/8 for denoms of T25/T100/T500/T1000/T5000.

I don't know if stacks are consistent for each and every player. I would guess they would be for consistency. Also, with only 2-500 chips in this stack seems like a small amount. (although it is the smallest step from T500 to T1000). I wonder if this means the first color up is done with mostly T500s denoms.
