Being a poor peasant, I've never had or expect to be able to touch a WSOP chip. But they look like they're made of hard plastic, much like the cheap bicycle chip. But I don't believe the WSOP would be played with cheap plastic chips...or would they? Does anyone know what material they are made of and their texture and weight?
Thank You Master Ben, I'll have a look. They are Bud Jones S2 high end plastics and are much better than cheap plastic chips. A lot of people still don't like the plastic even at the higher end because of the texture and slipperiness. It is definitely and acquired taste.

Getting close !Who’s got a playable set of these now?
I'm missing 4+1
The 5 I've never seen for sale, The 500/1K/5K Orange I could get today but don't want to pay the asking price, and the 10K I have only seen a few of but know they are out there.
What a crazy turn of events for the collecting community that I need the 500 and 1,000 but not the 1,000,000 or 5,000,000.
That's what I'm thinking. I haven't been able to find a good shot of the lavender 5000s on the table with the 500s.View attachment 1698746
The last year the WSOP was @ the Rio ^

Thanks Ben! I think you're right. Do you have any theories why the change? Just for the sake of change? This is the best I can do. I don't think the 500/5K clashing was the motivation for the change.
