I am considering my first mechanical (auto) watch. I am leaning towards an entry level swiss movement (Tissot PRS 516). Does anyone have any experience, thoughts, ideas, cautions or general words of wisdom concerning this?

I don't wear watches but I do have a PR150(?) that I was given for my 21st. Bottom range of the Tissot brand but I love it, never missed a beat. 10 years old now and only ever had to change the battery, keeps time really well.

I've had multiple luxury watches throughout the years ranging from Oris to Rolex all the way to Audemars Piguet.

Depends on your budget and design you like. Eg. sporty look or more elegant design?

I reckon for entry level watches, Oris or Frederick Constantine is a stronger brand choice.

Honestly you should just save more money and go straight for a rolex.. you can't go wrong with that. Timeless design and maintains excellent value.
