Would You Rather has always been one of my fave games to, especially with colleagues as it's a good way of having a laugh in an office environment.

Would you rather a flying cloak or invisibility Cape, for example? Or what about only ever being able to order starters and mains, or mains and dessert in a restaurant — for the rest of your life?

Thought it would be funny to start a poker chip equivalent, so I'll start with:

Would you rather someone paid your WSOP Main Event entry ever year — but you had to give up collecting and playing with quality chips as a hobby? (You'd be limited to having a set of these 2-gram Bicycle interlocking chips as the only set you could ever play with at your home game or somebody else's.)

Or...

That same someone gave you $10,000 every year to spend SOLELY on new chips? These chips can be traded — but Never sold on.

As much as I love chipping, I'd choose the free Main Event entry every year.

Feel free to add your own Would You Rathers, but please keep them chip-related otherwise this thread will derail very quickly, haha!

Definitely going with 10k for new chips every year.

I don't know if I'd be able to attend the WSOP every year, and the chips are definitely going to hold their value more than the 0$ I'd win every year :banghead:

So yeah, give me the annual 10k in chips, and maybe one year I'll sell off a ton at a huge discount to help folks out and pay for my WSOP entry (one time!).

I'll take the free main event every year first, and ask questions later?
I'm curious how restrictive this "give up your chip collecting hobby" is. Can I keep one playable set? Would I have to host with dice chips? Can I not own a single chip at all, and thus can never host?
That last one would suck, but I'd still take the free main event every year, and worry about the consequences later.

OP updated and, if anything, will probably make your decision a fair bit harder...

Even with the edit, easy answer. $10k for chips.

I know I suck at poker so no chance of winning at a main event. I know, enjoy the experience, learn from others, blah, blah, blah. But, $10k for chips---I might finally be able to afford chips from the NAGBs. ;)

Sorry, everyone; my $10k a year is about to artificially inflate the market.

Hahaha, great answer!

10K chips per year, form a company with other like-minded PCFers, and get an honest-to-God casino license so we can order direct from Angel/GPI.
I probably should have ruled that out, but I'll allow it as I love your thinking. NAWYRB (Not a Would You Rather Buy)...

I don't mean to crap on your thread @jr8719 , please don't take it that way, but I have another one for you all to ponder.

Option #1: Be able to post and buy from the Classifieds section and get all the chips that you want, excluding CPC's. You can not own any CPC chips, past, present or future, and you can't order any new chips from them ever again.

Or option #2: You get a card from David Spragg that gives you the right to 25% off all CPC orders for the rest of your life with no limitations, but you cannot post in the classifieds or buy any other chips, including Paulsons, for the rest of your chipping career.

Which do you choose and why?

Not thread-crapping at all, dude: I mentioned in the OP that I want all of your suggestions, so very welcome indeed.

I love your question: option #1 for me, as I'm too much of a Paulson whore!

Easy again. Option #1

Free entries for life for sure. Could be a random year I go "Jerry Yang" or "Darvin Moon" on everyone

And I couldn't see funding 10k of chips every year without selling. I'd be on that hoarder show lol. It would look like binion's safe in my entire living space after awhile. I guess I could get some warped Sands chips every now and then.

There's a traveling league with 4 houses each hosting once a month. It's your only opportunity to play live and the people are great to play with.
Would you rather
A) You have the bicycle chips and the remaining hosts randomly choose the best sets from PCF to put in play every night they host.

B) The other way around. They'll be sent to you on demand but you play with plastic when heading to the other 3 houses. It would give you creative power and you could keep them until your next event.

Not a big tourney player, but definitely the freeroll $10K WSOP entry. Never expect to win but hope to be in the money every time. I'm so used to playing with cheap chips with my friends for several years before upgrading my set where I'd definitely lean towards freerolling into WSOP every year.

what happens to the CPCs that you currently own?

A for sure. Hosting is an endeavor, and as much as I love hosting, I’ve witnessed it on a whole other level here.

Not to mention, if I go B, all 3 of those hosts will be sad and there would be a ton of pressure on my one host a month.

Think i gotta stay with the CPCs then, and live life one short of a barrel Mapes hundos (still looking for one if anybody has one they'd like to sell)

Option #B here for me. I'd feel almost ashamed having to put those Bicycle plastics into play in my own home game — so would much rather have to play the three other games with inferior chipes.
