Windwalker’s Chipping Journey in Pr0n0grAph1C Detail (18 Viewers)

Got the new table top into play with an impromptu game with some friends. Rolled out the ESPTs for their first felt appearance.

So great!

Werne Muensterberger did a well-accepted study on this behavior, titled Collecting: An Unruly Passion, Psychological Perspectives (Princeton Univ. Press, 1994 - 295 pp.) where he suggests that the psychology of collecting is often linked to childhood and object relations, namely the use of a transitional object to relieve the impact of a child’s separation from its mother. The more painful the childhood separation and related trauma, the more unruly the adult passions to collect anxiety-relieving objects. He also claims that his explanation of collecting behavior is applicable universally to all cultures throughout history. “Irrespective of individual idiosyncrasies of collectors, and no matter what or how they collect, one issue is paramount: the objects in their possession are all ultimate, often unconscious assurances against despair and loneliness.

MY mystery solved! :)

I don't see Matt Damon or Ed Norton at your table?!? Jokes. ;)

Seriously though, that table topper is sick.

I love it how you either do things 100% properly — or not at all.
If someone came to my game dressed like Worm, then they would get their ass kicked immediately.

I originally created this as a Pr0n thread to document my chipping journey / evolution, because it felt a fun thing to document, both for myself and for others, especially because there’s an entire category in the forum dedicated to Pr0n.

If the volume bothers you, there’s an ignore feature, as well as an “unwatch” one. :)

So, back to the Pr0n. I am gathering a bunch of random leaded chips in different denominations to ultimately create a mixed set. There are more on the way, here’s what I’ve gathered thus far.

Still need a better option on the $5, and definitely need an option on a $1000 chip. The hotstamp fracs are nice, but I’m undecided of whether to mix those and inlay chips.

The learning continues.

Those green 25s are gorgeous!

Some more Pr0n of the table topper to show how the felt and rail colors were picked — they were based on a design study of all the blues, green, neutral, tan and brown hues in the room, to create something that tied together. @T_Chan was able to get the exact tone printed on the felt.

I love it. I can imagine you have a very good interior decorator, as well as good taste yourself. Wall paper with a well executed striking pattern is incredibly difficult to pull off and balance with other interior design elements. But when it is done right it is incredible.

I am a photographer and have had the pleasure of photographing some incredible well designed interior spaces and am still floored when it is done well.
