When a casino closes down (1 Viewer)

Yeah apparently it depends on state or country laws but in your example since it’s NV - they all get destroyed. :vomit: Barbarians.

I still think PCF'rs should start a chip "disposal company".

We then low-ball (like 90% less) the rates of other companies and gain access to the bulk of the outgoing chips of the industry for that state.

We'd have to figure out some pat answers for when they question us as to how their chips are making it out to pcf denizens:

Examples:
MGM Rep: "How did 15000 of our obsolete $1000 chips end up in the hands of the public?
PCF: "HARVESTING!"

MGM Rep: "Is your organization selling chips that it's supposed to be destroying?"
PCF: "That depends on what your definition of "is" is.

MGM Rep: "Your company is just a front for obtaining our obsolete chips, isn't it?
PCF: <dramatically pointing to nothing in particular> "SQUIRREL!" <runs away>

Bankruptcy could be the only way a Nevada casino chips could see the light of day. If they are considered an asset they could be forced to sell them off to pay off creditors. This is only speculation on my part.

It may be easier to smuggle out chips that have no denominations because they can't be used as a liability against the casino corporation's assets like a denominated chip can. Perhaps this is the reason why Nevada roulette chips can sometimes be obtained in bulk.

Interesting. My initial reaction was that if it was illegal to sell an asset, bankruptcy wouldn't force a sale, whether it has value or not.

But, if *a* law prohibits the sale of chips (or requires the destruction of chips), *federal* bankruptcy laws may not care...

In Nevada, you need a casino operator to close/sell who will NEVER own a casino again and they know it. They could pack their chips on a truck the day after they close and truck them away forever.

Exceptions: Missouri (PCA, Terribles, Mark Twain), Ohio (Horseshoe), Washington (too many to count). Can anyone name another?

Oregon, Indiana, Illinois.

OK: no idea
CA: Vineyard, Crystal Park, Garden City
WI: LCO as pictured above.
