Title; I was looking to source a rack or 2 of $1 chips for a mixed cash set, but I do not know what type of chip I should use for $5 and fracs.

That is a very common Paulson RHC (Reverse Hat & Cane) clay chip. The vast majority of casinos now use RHC, so finding a suitable $5 chip that has the same mold should be trivial.

$1.59 a chip for brand new? That's a pretty good deal if you ask me.

But as I said, the RHC mold is one of the more common molds. So, there's actually lots to choose from and every TCR sale pretty much includes RHC chips.

Cleaning a few hundred chips is pretty easy. Beat up is more of a concern, a lot of live chips can be really worn down, but as long as they're not bike tires I say go for the chip you like more, instead of a mint condition one you like less.

I haven’t been in a couple months, but I doubt they got brand new chips very recently. So you can clean them and use them in a mixed set, but I’d recommend that you get other beat up (worn) chips for $5s and $25s, so the condition matches.

The Horseshoe Southern Indiana $1 chips (primary, secondary and 1a) all come up from time to time in mint or barely-used condition, and around $120-$135 per rack.
Finding matching higher-level denoms is definitely more costly, however.

Depends on your budget, stakes, willingness to tolerate worn chips, willingness to murder/relabel chips, and the types of chips that interest you.

Yeah just need fracs, 1s and 5s, maybe a barrel of 25s, but that'll be easy to find. I found purple thc solids for 100/rack, I play .25/.25, so don't need a ton of $5's either tbh. Willing to relabel/murder chips as well.
