What should I have for my first Bourbon ? (1 Viewer)

If you want a smooth finish. I think I would start with Four Roses Single Barrel. Its really good. Smooth finish. The only thing its missing is a "wow" factor imo. Its a high end middle shelf bourbon imo. Should be in the 35-40 USD range.
This is one of the best readily available not crazy expensive bourbons out there.

My “house” bourbon for the last 15 years has been Buffalo Trace. It has a great flavor profile but doesn’t cost that much as to make one not want to mix it. Until recently it was widely available but now, suddenly, it has become another cult hit and people are buying it up like crazy.... which is nuts. It’s really good but not as good as Four Roses Single Barrel or some other easy to get bottles. It’s definitely has an aroma that is bigger than its palate...which makes is great for old fashions, etc.

Another vote for Buffalo trace and it’s older brother Eagle Rare. For me, these find that sweet spot of complexity and value.
