What is this style of chip? Post some of your favourites? (1 Viewer)

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to find a thread on chips in this style. I did a lot of googling and PCF searching but couldn't find what I was looking for, I can't find a name to describe them. I think I stumbled across a thread a while ago showing like 70's/80's chips in this style? Could someone link me there or just post some of your favourites below?

The style I'm describing are characterized by having a thin edge spot where the inlay is usually a picture and seems to be overlaid on the edges:

What are your thoughts on this style? I used to hate it, but recently I started to love it and I'm feeling like designing my own chips like this and looking for some inspiration. I have already drawn the below very roughly, but I still like to see what's out there and get inspired.

I used to think that when I first saw them, but they are growing on me! Definitely not better than a “standard” chip. But for those chips with pictures I think they are kind of quirky and cool

It's a Paulson brand giant inlay chip. These are very nice but tend to be more slippery than a standard Paulson after the composite clay base wears down, as the inlay remains in tact. I don't think there's a close match that you can customize right now - maybe a slightly larger inlay on some ASM molds - but they are in flux right now.

I will say, I have some giant inlay Paulsons from Mohegan Sun in CT...and they are the slipperiest chips I've ever handled. Since there is so little clay contact between chips in a stack, they are dice-chip-slippery.
More clay, smaller inlay = better.
Unless they're Hooters.

Clearly this style of chip is the greatest thing ever according to PCF...

You will find all kinds of over-sized inlays. Happy hunting.

Some are butt-fugly, but some not. It all depends on the inlay since it dominates the face most of the time.
Some have the outer edge on the inlay match the chip color & BCC (Blue Chip Co.) seems to have had two different over-sized inlay sizes, as well as offering a textured or glossy version.
Slipperiness also depends on what mold the inlay is on, and whether or not the chip itself is casino well-worn.

Go over which styles you like best and get that new set together. Don't forget to post pics

I have some reading to do.
Not sure if I ever took pics before but recognize my old felt there .

I may have been the only one to do those in green.
I already had the blue .50's and had so many of the pinks with the same spots done as PCR and Avalon they were coming out of my tóin.
