Checking back in here at Pcf. It’s been a few months since I have logged in regularly so I figured I’d make a post about why I haven’t been around.

Last fall I had an opportunity at work to transfer and get a pretty good bonus to move. Since I’ve always wanted land, and I’m not getting any younger, I jumped on it and moved with my family from Nebraska to Northern Alabama. We sold our house in a hurry, moved, and bought 55 acres of land and a house that we closed on in march. So far we’ve got chickens and gardens, but we plan on making it into a fully working farm and earning an income off the land eventually.

There is so much to do that I haven’t had much time for chipping. I’ve still got a few sets though, and would still love to go to a meet up every once in a while if I can.

Here are a few pics I’ve take so far. It’s 55 acres with creeks running down both sides. The front 15 is pasture with the back 40 set up for hunting. There is a road up the middle and smaller ones on both sides. There is a pond in the back corner fed by one of the creeks. It’s about an acre and full of big bass and crappie. One of my boys caught about a 10lb bass in it the other day.

Anyway, good to be back, I’m sure there is a lot to catch up on. I’ll get to messages over the next day or two. Hope everyone has been well.

That is awesome! Congrats man!!! So much happiness in those photos!

That's living the dream for sure. Congrats!

Great to see that you and your family are doing well. Looks like a wonderful place to raise a family.

Welcome to the cotton state.

More snake pics…you can’t take two steps without seeing a poisonous snake, spider or plant.

Alabama is scary…no one (else) should move here.

Thanks for the update my friend...you struck gold for you and your family.

One and only one question... is this within the 420 free zone ? (asking for a friend)

Congrats, Colter! Very nice to have a stocked pond you can fish from! Looks amazing there.

Thanks for the kind wishes, were loving it so far, id love to host a meetup some day but it will be a few years before we can accommodate it.

Next big thing we want to do is get up fences in the front so we can start raising cows. Hopefully that will cut down on some of the mowing also

I don't mind the snakes, me and the boys catch them. Ive caught that copperhead a few times and a bunch of racers and water snakes. I really don't like the ants lol they bug me a lot, more than the snakes and spiders. Carpenter bees are also a bit of a pain, but at least they are seasonal.

Ants rule the world…and Alabama is just one big fire ant hill.

If you host a meetup can I just fish in that pond while everyone plays poker? That bass is insane, they don’t make them like that in Michigan! But seriously that looks like an awesome place to raise your kids!
