What dollar amount for high-hand bonus? (2 Viewers)

With $20 buy-in (no bounty), what should each player pay for high hand bonus of the night?

We’re having a $20 buy-in cash event this coming weekend.

I’m giving out scratch off for any Jack off wins (e. g. :jc::8h: stealing this idea from @Kyle favorite hand!).

But, I’d also like to do high hand bonus for the evening, so what should each player pay for that?

We’re not doing any bounties.

Edit:

Our tourney buy in is $40-$60 (dependent on add ons). Our high hand payout is $30 and we pay bubble every week $50. Average over 20 entries & rebuys weekly (prizepool $800-1500 paying 3-4 + bubble).

Forgot to mention it’ll be 16-17 players

I like the idea of getting your buy in amount back. solid. appreciate the feedback/ideas

One question is whether the HH bonus "fee" comes out of the $20 buy in, or is extra. IMO it should be in addition to the buy in.

$5 or $10 per player for HH in a $20 buy in is way too much (IMO). That is 25-50% of the buy in, basically for playing BINGO.

$1 may be too small for a one table game (only a $6-$8 payout), but with the 16-17 players you mentioned, it may be ok.

$2 seems to me to be the sweet spot. $12-$16 payout on a single table, $32-$34 for your planned event.

You might also consider making it optional (only those who contribute are eligible, HH's hit by non-participants are ignored). If you do that, then $5 becomes a bit more viable (IMO)

Awesome, yea I totally agree. I think $2 atop the buy in works great for the stakes

I like to sell show em chips for some small acceptable amount and that fully funds the high hand bonus. It's taken out of their stack and doesn't require them to buy in for more. Any player that doesn't purchase show em chips do not qualify for hhb.

The J8 should always be revered and feared.

I asked my players about a High Hand bonus and they were all on board. 8 player table, $25 buy in, and $2 for the high hand. $16 for the high hand of the night.
