What determines the value of the chip other than the numbers on the chip? (1 Viewer)

Colors are often standardized by state gaming commissions (e.g., NV uses red $5, green $25, black $100, I think orange $1k). Different states result in different color codes. CA vs. NV is the most common split for US chippers. For example, in CA the color white means $100, $20 are brown, $25 are purple. NV has white or blue $1. CA won’t use a white $1 chip.
