I’ve been going down the rabbit hole lately looking at different casino chip sets and it got me thinking. What casino do you think has or had the best chips?

I’m talking about everything that makes a set great: design, colors, inlays, edge spots, manufacture of chip, history, all of it. Some casinos have really iconic chips that are instantly recognizable, while others might not be as famous but just nailed the overall look and feel.

It could be a current casino set that’s still on the tables, or an older discontinued set that collectors love. I’m curious what stands out to everyone and why.

What casino chip set gets your vote as the best ever? What makes it stand out compared to others?

I’m stupid this isn’t even a Casino!!!

Early-ish Tropicana with the fountain inlay and on the TRK small-crown mold.

Stardust from it's earlier days.

"Current" MGM Grand house mold set. Many of thee have gone to the smaller inlay which makes them less impactful in my opinion. Since this photo, I've added the current $100 chips to these as well. I should take them out of my display case and get a new group photo now that I have those.

Mountain Club Tracy: simple and consistent spot pattern yet still a powerful line up. Solid colour choices. (Especially if the 25c still exist somewhere out there which I think are red with peach spots). Ignore the 10c and $100 in the picture - those are overlables and not original.

Oceanside card club: again a consistent spot pattern, but a lot more colour. Fun!

It's just a matter of personal taste, but both Bellagio sets would probably be my #1 and #2, not sure in which order.

two days ago I was in Campione, playing with their wonderful jetons. ... one of the few places in Europe still using these old fashioned things.

They are not pratical to handle and stack, anyway they are so nice :)
