What’s a good option to replace the BTP Cash $1? (1 Viewer)

Could I respectfully ask why the dislike for the original $1? I honestly think it’s one the nicest looking chips out there. Does it not play well with the fiver or something? It adds variability to the spot progression so it can’t be that right? Just curious.

i love the chip and would LOVE 8 more racks of them to go with the 3 i have already.

It just has 3 colors that are too close to the surounding denoms (well 2 and the $100) It doesnt bother most people and its not a huge problem.

My first choice is the original BTP 1 since I love tri moon chips.

Of course the ES frac / AST25K both look awesome and goes really well. You should be able to find these chips quite easily.

The Paris $1 is perfect for this set. It gives you a 1/8 spot on all the chips quarter through $20.

Empress Star Primary Tourney 25k is a beautiful blue, but same spots as 5. I think the original dollars is best

If I didn’t also have an AS cash set, the AS $1 would be a great choice to replace the BTP $1s.

Failing that, as one or two have already mentioned, the ES frac would be at the top of my list as an alternative. And should be easy enough to find as well in quantity.

I believe that the BTP $1 was designed as a tribute to the spotted flamingo birds. I think the colors are the same obvs with a different spot pattern. It is a fantastic chip but I do think something about it doesn’t quite fit with the others. For me it’s a combo of the large yellow spot and also the Tr spot pattern.

I suspect someone had a great idea for the chip itself and then proceeded with it even thoughas the set came together it might have made sense to tweak it.

I was not involved in the design so I may be off base with the above but I seem to recall being told that. I also love the set very much and will gladly buy a sample if someone has one out there!!

Yes, I like the ES 25¢ as a chip better but because of the yellow base on the $5s (with a green spot there as well) I think the AS T25K would give you more contrast. Do you have a picture of your set in barrels (on the side) @MatB ?

Having said that, when used with the black $20s, I'm not against keeping the original BTP $1s. There is something to be said about using the original imo. Just like using the RHC $1s on the PCA set. If using the $25s though, then I think I lean more towards replacing the $1s because of the low contrast.

Good call. This is one of my favorite edge spot patterns. I think it would pair greatly with what you are looking for. They are out there, but it could take a little time to acquire them. I paid between 4.50 and 6.50 per chip fwiw. I sold them at cost.

I’m going to follow @Hornet’s experience of playing with them and realIzing the original dollar is fine.
