At first, I was VERY confused by the preference for lots of manual effort that results in chips that aren’t as clean.

HOWEVER, then it hit me… This is very likely “learned behavior” (I like to call it “brainwashing”) resulting from being forced by Mrs. Jacks to hand wash the dishes for the past several years.
