Hey all. I’ll be in Vegas next month. Was curious on the latest status of chips conditions in the poker rooms.

Would like to grab a few racks of Mandalay Bay but unsure of the current condition of the chips and if it’s worth my time to Uber over there.

I’m staying at ceasars for part of the trip and then a night at the golden nugget so I can check those out and report back but I think I saw that the nuggets chips are pretty worn.

not interested in the newer hot stamp chips that have been released, but are there any other new chip releases that I should be on the lookout for?

Thanks!

Pure speculation here, but I’ve seen a couple of people selling racks of great condition Rio $1s recently. I don’t know if they actually put new $1s on the floor recently or if this is just a coincidence. But for decent condition THC chips for a buck apiece, it’s probably worth investigating.

I saw that. I figured these were the 2012 issue that is obsolete now, but someone else might know better than me. This is just my assumption based on the the chipresource page.

I was there in March and can't comment on Mandalay Bay's chip conditions, but i harvested two racks from Circa and i got a little over a rack of Circa 1s in nearly mint condition, with enough to fill a second rack of still very good condition chips that are not quite "sharp" but still great for my home game. Golden nuggets were definitely more worn but not horrible.

poker rooms are definitely the fastest way to pick up chips, but still possible without. i got the circa's from mostly Blackjack and some craps but honestly i lost more on craps than if i would have just done blackjack.

these were acquired from my two night stay and i wasn't on the tables the whole time. still time consuming though

Circa’s chip lineup is severely underrated imo. Giant inlays may not be to everyone’s taste, but I love the design.

When I was at NYNY recently, most of the $1 hotstamps appeared to be fairly new. One of the better hotstamps on the Strip if they’re your thing.

(These are just what I happen to not cash in, but there were lots of sharp chips in play).

haven’t made it out anywhere else but can speak to ceasars palace.

The solid $1 blue with the inlay are pretty much non existent now. 99% of the $1 chips are the hot stamp version but they are in pretty good condition.

Ask at the cage if you can have new racks. Inside poker rooms they might accommodate you. ESP if late and you tip $10/$20

just checked out Mandalay. $1 were in decent condition. Not sure of official grades but I’d call them a 8/10. $5 were in pretty rough condition

Started sorting at the MGM but the were in pretty rough condition so I called it off. Hot stamps are mixed in so that’s about 20% of the chips. The old inlay versions were pretty beat up. Would say 6 or 7 out of 10. Also a lot of warped chips so the stacks were wobbling.
