I’m again selling various Paulson Top Hat & Cane solids with Starburst hotstamps which are either no longer needed, or acquired as part of larger lots. Most of these are offered around $1 a chip or less:
  • 56 Munzell Greens (Color hard to say; OK condition, rolled edges, fading stamps) — $ 45 + shipping
  • 35 Lavender (Good condition; color ID reasonably good) — $ 30 + shipping
  • 15 Dark Greens (Decent condition, soft edges, fading hotstamps) — $ 10 + shipping
  • SOLD 60 Off-Whites (Excellent condition, good edges and stamps; one novelty chip) — $ 70 + shipping
  • SOLD 24 Plums (Good condition; color tends toward purple but more reddish) — $ 20 + shipping
  • SOLD 15 Lilacs (Excellent condition, good edges and stamps) — $ 20 + shipping
  • 5 Royal Reds (Good condition) — $5 + shipping;
  • 3 Charcoals (Good condition, some softening of the edges) — $3 + shipping
  • 5 Purple (Good condition) — $5 + shipping
SAMPLE CHIPS are not included and are included for comparison’s sake only.

SHIPPING in the U.S. will be $7 for quantities under 20, and $12 for amounts from 20-80. Will determine combined shipping above that as needed at the USPS cost to me. Update: Foreign shipping would have to be determined, and I can’t guarantee any overseas shipments.

COLORS with Paulson solids can be really tricky, and batches of the same color can vary. Photos have been adjusted in Pixelmator to reflect what I see, but everyone’s screen and eyes are different. Note that the shades of purple were especially hard to capture accurately, and the colors vary subtly within batches; matches with sample chips are difficult. There is no way to guarantee that the colors of any of these will match your existing sets, but I’ve done my best.

CONDITION is best ascertained from the detail photos below in comments, or please ask for specific shots.

TRADES will be considered. I could use a few more of the following THC Starburst solid colors: Pink, Black, Dark Green, Blaze Orange, Arc Yellow, Sherbert Green, Fuchsia, and Radiant Red, and barrels of other unusual colors.

If you have a strong interest in any of these, PM me and I can send additional photos, or feel free to ask in the threads below. First come, first served.

Be sure to check out the patented Froot Loop color verification money shot at the end! ;)

56 Munzell Greens — Click for larger images. Please note that the color ID is iffy; these are very close to my Munzell sample chip, but slightly different to my eye. May just be a batch variation. The next closest was Dark Green, but that was not as a good a match.

35 Lavenders — click for larger images. There is color variation within the batch, which I’ve found is a common thing among purple-ish chips. The color match as ever is my best guess.

CLAIMED • 24 Plums — click for larger images. These are darker than my Plum sample chip, but lighter than my Purple sample chip. As with some of my other offering here, there is variation within the batch. Anyway, I’m going with Plum, but can’t say for sure.

SOLD 15 Lilacs — click for larger images. I’m 95% pretty sure of this color ID, but you never really know. These are in good shape.

15 Dark Greens — click for larger images. I’m pretty sure of the color ID. My other oiled Dark Greens are slightly darker, but that’s probably because they are oiled and these are not.

5 Purples — click for a larger image. These are darker than the picture suggests. That said, I have some purples which are even darker. Paulson colors are a bitch, I mean batch.

5 Royal Reds — click for larger images. Nice chips, I just don’t have a use for 5 of these. Maybe they’ll help someone fill out a rack.

3 Charcoals — click for a larger image. The color has a very slightly bluer cast than some of my other Charcoals. I find these variations are true of a lot of Paulson grey colors, e.g. Showboat.

Well done with the Paulson color sample in the pics, as it's tough to nail down the actual colors for many of the starbursts.

Even with samples—I actually have two complete sets, and a third almost complete one—I sometimes tear my hair out trying to ID Paulson home game colors. There are variations even between the sample sets.

Here is an all-inclusive post with all of the detail pics in one place, in case someone wants to scroll through them all at one go.

Any idea what the difference between a white and an off-white is? It looks exactly like what I have, and I'd like to increase my holdings.

Off-White is slightly darker and more cream colored than White, which is brighter, with no pigmentation at all. The difference is subtle, but real. I can try to post a side-by-side pic in a bit, though the camera doesn’t capture it well.

Here are two photos showing the difference. The white background emphasizes it a lot more. In some lights these look the same, but they are not.
