I've been buying up a lot of The Grove chips, and most people are selling those white fracs between 25c to 50c each to me. They're pretty hideous chips. Finding clean ones is nearly impossible. But if they are somehow minty then obviously they'd be worth more (which I don't believe is possible having worked at The Grove myself and having personally handled all of their chips).

Thanks for your help everyone, I'll relay the information back to my friend. I have no idea if he wants to list them on here or on E-bay, but I'll let you all know what he decides to do.

NOOOOOOOOOO!! I know those chips and that countertop! Tell this friend of yours:

(1) I'm terribly sorry for always sucking out on you and maybe making you not want to play poker as much
(2) sorry for saying that I'm sorry, and
(3) the simpler solution is just to host more games to get more use out of the chips

It's hard to tell from the photos, but if by any slim chance those Grove chips are in decent condition, I'd definitely buy them. But if they're super grimy like all the other ones I've seen, then I'd probably pass.

He needs to repurpose that space, and move the poker stuff out. Sad, I agree

Someone is having a baby...

That's my current excuse, though I got to keep my poker room since the wife is afraid of the occasional bug in the basement and doesn't want our little bug down there with them.

Hope all is well with our friend the Buffalo though, and hope his chips find a good home if he does part with them.

I figured I would join the to help in this process.
I simply want a fair price for my chips.
I can be reached directly to talk about deals at buffalo@guisarme.net
My name is Andy.

I think the Pharaoh chinas sell well for $0.25/chip..............so worth keeping IMO vs what he likely paid

If that is the going rate for them right now. I will likely keep them.

Depending on condition, I might be that someone. :)

They are in decent condition, you can see a picture in the original post.

Slight change on this as well....one of the racks fo Terrible's 5.00 chips is mostly St. Joseph's. So I actually have 511 Lagrange and 89 St. Josephs

It looks like the Terrible's are mint...and I have all of those listed I need. I would say they are worth 150 a rack or more.

The Terrible's are mint.

I might be interested in some/all of the Terrible's $5's and $25's if the price is resonable (~$150/rack).

Contact me off list and we can talk. If I am shipping to Oslo, you need to pay the shipping.

Bo.....I wish it were that simple.

Tell "your friend" he should reach out to me first...

Reaching out.
My email is buffalo@guisarme.net

The Groves are not mint, but for a white chip they are in good to very good condition.

I can be reached off list at buffalo@guisarme.net

I will ship anywhere in the world, insured, but you will pay for shipping.

So far, the consensus I have seen here is that the following; Please correct me if I am misinterpreting:

Terrible's are work 150-175/rack assuming they are mint, and they are.

Fitzgerald's are worth 150-175 for my 120 or so, assuming they are in decent shape, but could be worth more.
Groves were not really priced, .50 in poor shape, but these are in MUCH better shape than that.
Dunes were not talked about at all
Grand Victoria's were not really priced either .

Pharohs are better to hold onto that sell.

Did I miss anything?

Thanks

The Dunes would depend on which Dunes chips they are. There have been a few sets of those that range quite a bit in value. If you post some close up pics of those, we could give you more info. Also, the Grand Vics have a pretty extensive selling history on here. You should be able to find several prior listings in the classifieds that will give you an idea of their value.

I'd be willing to pay over 50c ea for the Grove fracs if they're in pretty good shape. I'll send you an email for pics.

Good Luck! Let us know if you have other questions. Lot of people here willing to help.

@Slisk: True - if you keep your Terribles collection they're probably worth more than $150 a rack, if you liquidate your entire collection, maybe as low as half that.

:)

Grand Victoria ,100 x $25 secondary -- $150-200/rack mint, $100-$125/rack used

Dunes, china clay version -- 25c-30c each

Pharaoh's Club and Casino, china clay version -- 30c-35c each

Completely disagree. No way that mint Terrible's go for 75 cents a chip regardless of what I do.

I will post close ups of the Dunes chips this evening.
