somebody on another forum recommended the used 2009 WSOP cards on eBay ($8.99 shipped) as being a great deal on KEMS. I’ve seen them referred to as KEMs before, but I wonder why. They’re clearly bicycle branded USPC cards, but I’m guessing they’re made with acetate, so people are comfortable calling them KEMS?
Anyway, on to the review. They’re warped and they feel stiffer than other KEMs. So I guess the warping (or bowing) is a check in the KEM column, and why did I expect anything more from 10 year old cards? I dunno. And if the picture doesn’t illustrate the bow well enough, let me tell you, they have that telltale snap when I shuffle them. That makes them next to useless in my mind. Because every time I feel that snap, I get angry at myself for wasting my money.
And like I said, they feel stiffer. Maybe that’s a product of the warp, or maybe it’s bevause they’re bridge and the only KENs I have to compare are poker size, or maybe it’s all in my imagination. I dunno.
But the bottom line is that these things are pre-warped, so they’re not worth the discount.
