I wasn't expecting to do a custom set now since I just bought a full set of GPI Elites, but I stumbled upon an ad on kijiji this week for hotstamped roulette THC.
I didn't asked any question to the vendor about the lot and bought it blindly looking at one picture when I saw the THC mold.
Paid 20$ for about what looked like 2000 chips and 60$ of shipping. :)
Received the box the next day and began some sorting.

Almost all THC are roulette chips with Roulette on one side and the other 50c or 1$ beside the 10$ orange which read St-Hyacinthe on the other side.
I asked the seller about the origin and he said a friend gave them to him long time ago and he never bother doing anything with them and sat there in the dust.
The plastic chips on the bottom says Expo St-Hyacinthe.
So I did a little research and found the St-Hyacinthe Fair ran casino event from 1981 to 1997. The chips where bought in 1983 from Vegas and were often rent for other events to pay their hefty cost at the time.

Count:
Black x 42
Light Yellow? x 81
Dark Brown? x 173
Pink x 414
Grey Blue? x 48
Day Green x 21
Orange x 108
Hot Pink? x 153
Yellow x 303
Arc Yellow x 2
Mint Green x 40
Green? x 327
Bright Orange? x 4
And a bunch of plastic chips.

Did a quick wash of all colors and to have a better look at the condition

Anyone can confirm the colors? I'm pretty sure these are leaded. I don't have a precise scale but they weight 10-11g.

As you can see on the yellow on top, some are in pretty bad shape.
The light pink have the best condition and the other are all used and have a hard time standing on side.

So, now the next thing to do is cleaning everything. Is a ultrasonic cleaner a good investment for that many chips?

These will get milled when I get my own workshop in the next house, hopefully this winter.

It will be a cash set. And with that many colors, I think I'll opt for 5c to 100$
Still thinking about the design for the labels and the denominations. I think Blue is missing in the set (like Flamingo 1s)

Thanks for checking. I'll update this thread with anything new about these chips and their journey.

Clean them first before trying to guess at colours. Yes, an ultrasonic would be a good investment at this time for this many chips, though maybe you can borrow or rent one for a day.

Ballpark colours by eyeballing and guessing (which is absolutely the wrong way to do it):

1st column: Fuchsia, Lilac, Hot Pink, Red
2nd column: Peach, Arc Yellow, Yellow (I'm not sure if there's a real distinction between the last two chips)
3rd column: Sky Blue, Pale Green, Day Green
4th column: Indian Blue (first two chips may be the same), Charcoal, Black

Came up with a solid breakdown for both a tourney and cash set utilizing almost all the chips available to me

Tourney set:
T25K (Lilac) x 20
T10k (Sky blue) x 40 + 8
T2K (Pumpkin) x 100 + 8
T500 (Hot pink) x 140 + 13
T100 (Black) x 160 + 1
Bounty (Day green) x 20 + 1

For a nice 25K stack (10,8,5,1) for 16 players and rebuys

Cash set:
25$ (Indian blue) x 300 + 27
5$ (Pink) x 400 + 14
1$ (Yellow) x 400 + 11
25c (Light blue) x 240
5c (Metallic gold) x 160 + 13

Just have 40 Mint green left unused and the leftovers I'll keep for samples!

Now I'll start working on the inlay design. :)
