Here's a little corner where UK chippers might get together and advise each other about what's going on or ask any UK specific questions related to chips in general.

You could say: "Use the search function" In which case this can be a reminder to add UK in the title of your thread ?

If it's not useful the thread can wither away .....

I'll start by saying I'm proposing a Tina Group Buy in the Group Buy section.

Also I'd like to buy or borrow some Tina Hybrid samples. No mold, Web mold, and Greek mold. Preferably with old fashioned edge spots rather than "graphics".

Hello

I successfully got a Broken Arrow GB posted to the UK but a clubbing together might save on costs for future purchases (i'm trying to resist).

I will be selling some samples soon of No and Web Mold

I'm also UK based and interested in a group buy. And a +1 on interest on the website mold samples

I am considering ordering some chips from the US to the UK. Anyone does this lately? I am just wondering what the current fees would be.

I saw one post from 2020 that said there's no duty due on poker chips but the carrier will add a fee for collecting the VAT. Then I saw another thread that sometimes the 20% will be charged on the dollar value and not the converted GBP value. Surely if this happens you have some recourse to claim a refund?! Although, I am sure that would be difficult.

So, if I were to do this, I suppose I have to consider the best case and the worst case and budget accordingly?

Best case it gets through without any VAT added: this even a possibility?

I’ve just ordered 900 chips and the shipping was $92.
Don’t quote me but I believe there is no duty payable on goods worth £135 or less.
Re VAT my understanding is you pay 20% on the total value. This includes the goods themselves, shipping, duty and insurance.
I’ll be in a better position to advise when the chips arrive.
I’m sure there are others on here who are better placed and experienced.

My chips arrived this week. I didn't pay any duty and VAT seemed to be just on the chips themselves. I suspect because the delivery cost wasn't anywhere on the label. Got charged a £13.60 handling fee by UPS which seems to be fairly standard from what I can see.

If anyone is ordering Tina chips in the near future and is happy for me to hitch a ride on their order I'd be ever so grateful - I'm just looking to get 50 chips. TIA to that most wonderful of people

I’ll be ordering in the September group buy. I’m in NI and you’re welcome to piggy back.
