I'm on the lookout for a new poker table, 7 ft x 4 ft racetrack-shaped.

Can anyone recommend any sellers/makers?

I'm woolly with what I need, when I'll want it, so no hawkers please :p

Translated by instinct, much like translating Latin:

I'm not sure about anything related to buying the table, so don't offer to sell me anything.

How'd I do? I'm adding woolly to my vocabulary. I now know what nappies are as well. More shire-speak, and culture...awesome!

celticnoel over at pokertable forum is in the UK I believe. I'm pretty sure he's still building tables.

I thought maybe he was getting wooly from all the stress.

McPokertables are 10 minutes from me.

I've not personally used them, but they look very professional - then I checked their twitter and the last few months is people complaining about not getting responses.

Are you even half capable to build one? I built a small one ages ago ( no race track). Was waaay easier than I thought from plans.

The pictures of builds on their site were pretty ropey up until relatively recently. I think they're getting better but I wouldn't order from them.

They did a table for Andy Murray. Maybe ask him if it's any good?

StevenH72 on CT got one done by an outfit called Ace And A Face. He rated it but it was a while back and I don't think they're still going.

I've not found a UK builder who offers the range/quality of @T_Chan. I plan to use him when I get a new table and import.

Maybe one of the poker table forum crew might help you out with a build? Could be worth a shout...

Ace and a face definitely stopped trading/making tables. Based in Aberdeen?

How much is table delivery from the USA, or have you not investigated that far? My wife would lose her sh!t at that delivery, it would be worth getting one for her reaction alone...

Is this Celtic Noel?

He's based in Balloch, not Irvine I think. Neither are very far from me. Thought about seeing if they have examples of their work but I'm not mad on the limited choice on customisation they have available

Ace and a Face is no longer in business, which is sad. I learned a lot from the builder there in my early days.

Shipping overseas is not challenging, it's just expensive especially when you have to take into account customs and VAT. I'm currently working on an order going to Australian and the shipping is currently estimated at around $700 USD.

Thanks for the info folks. I've looked at those websites and I've asked one for a quote. TBH I'd be happy with a second hand casino table if it were the right size (7ft x 4ft), but they're few and far between.

Do you scour eBay/gumtree?

Every so often there is a gem, reasonably priced. A year or two back there was a ace & face table in Glasgow for £350, I had neither the scratch nor space at the time, gutted. The materials alone probably cost more than that, it looked great.

Yeah there was a table not so long ago, it went for about £130, below what I was willing to pay for it, but I couldn't sort out a courier.

I've got eBay and gumtree set up to auto-alert me when new poker tables come up, unfortunately that means I get notified whenever those crap octagonal toppers are for sale too...

S+R (swings and roundabouts)

I have used Masterpokertables before for a 2 part topper, he can do more customization's than it shows on the site and pretty much any size, was pleased with the quality overall but communication was a bit slow and it took quite alot longer than expected to build it.
I'll add some pics tomorrow.

Quick pic of my topper.

Irvine (where Masterpokertables is based), is not far from me. I might reach out, see if I can swing by and check out the guy's builds some time.

If I do, I'll take pics and report back.

Yea his name is John Masters, i tried McPokertables but got no reply so went with these in the end.
