Trying to design CPC custom - need help with inlay (8 Viewers)

i am in the process of ordering some custom CPC chips. I have no skill in designing a label - inlay - I would be happy to use some that have already been designed. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

For most, the whole aspect of custom is to get something that is meaningful to you. Do you have any idea of what kind of theme you would like to go with on your chips?

First things first Bruce B - your mold of choice would be, don't tell me, Horsehead, no wait, FDL. Hang on, H-mold, because of the 'H' in your username


jokes. Has to be the B-mold all the way. And what @Poker Zombie said . I am a James Bond fan, hence my CPC chips being 'Blades' and 'Casino Royale'. This will help with picking colours as well.

What are you interested in?
What are your players interested in?
Do you share interests?
Are you wanting bright/neutral/subdued colour schemes?
What poker chips caught your eye and made you think, 'Hey I want some too?"
What is your budget (re spot pattern levels)?
What denoms and how many of each?

Post some pics of things you like as there are heaps of talented chaps on here who could knock something out quick-smart.

Thanks for the input. My poker chip addiction has been going on for many years. It was just by chance that I ran into chip designer page on CPC site. I still have my files from the old app that has been on I phone for many years.
Someday - I'll post some pictures of the different sets I have in my collection. My all time favorite set is the original Navada Jacks - clays. The first addition not the second. My current set used in my games are Paulson - Pharaohs.
For this custom set - I have already picked out some of the colors and the mold. I like smooth finish - so I am thinking of using the FDL. It's the only smooth mold they have. If not for that I would select the cards and dice - since they sort of look like the old Nevada Jacks.
I'll try and find a way to post the pictures from their chip designer.
I want a simple round inlay - Big Numbers for the dollar amounts and perhaps just - "BHB POKER - ATLANTA, Ga. "
Don't know how to design the inlay. Open to thoughts and suggestions. This will be both a cash and tournament set. Lowest - $5 to $25,000.

I'd start with the chip galleries, download a few pics of designs that you like for inspiration.

They should give you an idea of composition, use of color, whether to include a graphic/logo or not, color marched inlay, etc.

That's how I started off.

Then I hired @Johnny5 to do all the hard work!

If you're using the set for cash and tourney, I'd suggest not using $ on your denoms, since I gather the $25 would be quarters $100 would be dollars etc. Keep in mind the security risk of using them for both as someone could pocket a tourney chip and cash it during cash. Depends on your crowd though.

You will find most people here agree with 200 Motels - a single set can work, but it is far less than optimal. Even if your group is 100% trustworthy, if you ever decide to run a cash game after a tournament, you would need to have 100% accountability for every chip before sending the cash chips to the table. It only takes 1 tournament chip to slip under the rail, under a cell phone, or behind a bottle - completely by accident - and reappear in the cash game to cause trouble.

Save the images above that are just the single label. Then in the design tool click Inlay > add image, to upload it. You'll have the inlay but the chip won't be designed. This is where you get to frig with the design and make the chips you want.

If I could give advice on making a custom set, keep in mind that the higher priced edgespots don't necessarily make a nicer chip. Some of the nicest chips on this site have very simple pattern and color combos. Get inspired from the gallery or the chip pr0n threads. Also there's a thread, Post mock ups - for science, which has all kinds of great looking combos.
